  1. I'm fishing from a boat. And this lake I'm fishing is very clear water. On other lakes I fish that are stained, I mostly have bass that inhale the jig and stay stationery. Thank you all for your replies. I'm always curious why they do the things they do.
  2. Hello all. When I get a bass to take a jig, worms, or tube. 90% of the time they take the lure and are headed towards deep water. I was wondering why they do this? Is it because they were there shallow and feeding and got their meal and vacate the area, as mission accomplished? Or there are more bass around and don't want to have their meal taken from them? And finally another question, should I be searching for some offshore structure with cover on it? That these bass are heading for in the depths? Thank you for any replies.
  3. Swimbaits and going to throw the C- rig alot more,
  4. I would have to say a jig. Also a buzzbait. This year I'm going to put more time with swimbaits.
  5. Ok guys, thanks. I will make the change asap.
  6. Hello all, my question is. I have 17ft monark bassboat that I tow on the bumper hitch. Should I be using something like a Reese hitch connected to the frame? Since it's an aluminum boat I should be ok?
  7. Thank you all. For your help.
  8. The lake that I fish most often, has stained water. I've tried super flukes, tiny flukes, bass assasins. I worked them slow, fast, and in between. The lake is filled with shad and the ones I see are only 3 inches long. My question is what is the most productive cadence do you have the most success with? Should I be working it much faster as to produce a reaction strike? not letting the bass get a good look at the passing fluke? The depth also, let it sink down more? To me its an awesome dying, struggling shad lure. but the bass aren't buying it. lol. Thanks for any imput.
  9. This is my first year to try them also. I'am pleased with the results of using them on any chunk rock or rip-rap. Unweighted, means less snags. I skip it towards the rocks, because it sometimes more than not excites the fish skipping the bait towards the rocks than just casting to. I also use those skip gap tube hooks. My Ika never needs adjustment unless I catch one.
  10. Thank you all! With your preferences. Awesome site.
  11. Looking for a pitching rod. 7'to 7'6. I would prefer a MH action with fast or xfast tip don't know which. I use a fast tip now on a mag touch (cabelas) rod. I pitch mostly 1/4 or 3/8 jigs and creatures. Don't want a pool stick either never flip. I would also like to hear if anyone pitches with a short handle? The one I have is long and seems to get in way at times. 200 dollars and below. Thank you for any input.
  12. Just wanted to know if anyone had suggestions on things as where u bought, best deals, finest quality. And the do's and dont's of installing. Thank you for any help.
  13. I love the KVD line conditioner. Especially on my spinning reels with fluorocarbon. I use it on all reels. It's a must have for me.
  14. Driving home from the lake. My trailer makes a strange sound when slowing down. I thought my trailer came off the ball. I pulled over to see and everything looked ok. The next day I checked my coupler and my coupler adjusting nut is gone. I have a locking nut still on the bottom. and a small spring and a large spring. I don't know what happened?

  16. Ok, just because I'm thinking crawfish. Doesn't mean the bass sees it the same way. The bass just identifies an easy slow moving snack. Thanks for your input guys.
  17. I found one of my old Dancin craw crankbaits. The ones if you can remember had that single treble hook on them. I took the red one snipped it in two and threaded it on a black and red flipping jig. My question for everyone is with the incredible realism of hard swimbaits, why doesn't anyone make realistic jig trailers? Because if a swimbait is swimming wouldn't something that is worked at times at a slow drag where the bass are really getting a good look at the bait realism would be a good thing? Also it would be nice for a trailer to be made of this same material it seems indestructible.
  18. I'am going to give spinnerbaits more time and build confidence in them. Also moving away from shore this summer and fish deeper structure with whatever cover is holding the bass there.
  19. I'am new to bass fishing and my question is. When fishing shaded cover do you just cast to the shaded side? or do you want your lure to go where the light and the shade meet?
  20. Does anyone have any suggestions on informative books to read or dvds to watch?
  21. I would like to hear how everyone goes about fishing an unfamilar body of water. starting points and such.
  22. Thanks for that info. I will do things differently from now on.
  23. I was fishing with a berkly powerworm and didn't feel the strike. So I ended up with a deep hooked bass. I removed the plastic worm but left the hook alone and released the bass. Does this bass have any chance of survival? I feel bad for doing this I hope I did the right thing by leaving the hook in there?
  24. I would like to hear from fellow members how you go about fishing points? Does wind direction factor in how you will fish points?
  25. Ok I will do that. This lake is a state park so I will inform the rangers. This idiot will more than likely do it again. There are houses on the lake and next time I will follow and see where he docks.
