What were you throwing? When it's immediately after ice out I usually catch most of my fish with blade baits(kastmaster, phoebes, inline spinners), beetle spin or small spinnerbaits, jerkbaits(depending on pond, some ponds it's killer), red eye shad and jigs.
From ice out to about October(chasing whitetails with the bow) Last year I could go like 3 or 4 times a week because I worked with my dad and we had a self business which was awesome for fishing. Now I go into work at 2pm so this year I will fish weekends and a couple mornings during the week hopefully.
d**n, they are a lot more expensive than I thought. It's still 65 on that other website. Maybe I'll try to get it welded or whoever is tagging along has to sit on a bucket if they want to sit. I normally just stand anyways
Anyone know where I can find a seat bracket for the bass raider 10e? I'm sure the 8e uses the same seats. The bracket part of the seat snapped last year. The seat part is perfectly fine, just the bottom part that goes into that slot is snapped in half. So I need to buy one of those or a whole new seat if I have to, but I don't know where and how much would it cost?
Not too many people ever mention this one, but one of my favorite plastics would be a zoom super hog. Always do well with them. Also, last year I caught a couple of my 5+ lbers on a 7" Minda Spear worm. Nobody really knows about it, but I'm telling you it will catch big fish.
It depends on where you're fishing I guess. Here in the Northeast a 9lber is almost unheard of and I would take a 9 lb bass over 5 5lbers easy. It would be a fish of a lifetime.
My favorite trailers would have to be Chigger Craws, Paca craws and Gander Mtn 3 in beavers. Oh, and I don't always tear apart the legs with the chigger craws and beavers. I actually prefer them attached, idk why just have always done better that way.
All the lakes and ponds here in Southern NY are iced up real good. Every place has at least 8 inches of ice that I've been to. I would think you should be fine unless you go out where there's moving water or something to warm up a part of the lake? Will probably ice fish tomorrow morning after this storm but man I can't wait for warmer weather to come and melt this crap!
I never used a jig until about 2 years ago and ever since I will always have a jig tied on one of my rods. Last year I caught over half of my bass on jigs and caught 5 bass better than my previous personal best. Now it is my go to bait and I will fish it every outing. You should def try using jigs as i will bet once you get used to using them you will start to catch bigger fish on them.
