  1. No hat eating necessary. I still think the whole thing is funny. Which is right, which is the goof? One of those deals.
  2. As to where I found the Cranks I had to order them from BPS.
  3. I am not going to have time to get over to get at my 2.5s so I stopped on my way home and grabbed another 1.5 to show you what I'm talking about and that I'm not blowing smoke. 1.5 in box is brand new, never opened until a few minutes ago. 1.5 out of box is the one I took pictures of the other day.
  4. Tournament anglers that think they own the lake is another.
  5. You're completely wrong about the colors of the baits. All are bluegill, I know this because I can read the package. The translucence has nothing to do with the fact that the 1.5 is missing the blue paint on the nose, the scale pattern, and the green tint on the body.
  6. One of my biggest, and my own fault, is when I'm partnering. I have a habit of not getting things out of the boat that I would otherwise never be caught without; IE: Rigging box, soft plastics that I fish the most, spinnerbaits... I've done it several times, which makes me happy that I have a regular partner and what's mine is his and his is mine, so to speak. I've fished "regularly" with other guys that were completely opposed to lending anything to anyone, regardless of whether it was team or individual.
  7. On that part of it I understand what you, and he, is saying, which is why I need to get pictures. The 1.5 I have posted in the picture is not a finished bait. Even on the BPS paper catalog it is different than the bait shown in my first picture. Doesn't matter, really, everything I've been told from everyone I've talked to has said there were a bunch of 1.5s that went out without being finished. From the looks, this is one of them. I'll also refer you to the 2011 Catalog from Strike King. They don't state a color difference in the cranks, as they do with other "special" colors or attributes. http://www.strikeking.com/documents/2011_SK_catalog.pdf
  8. The gill dot is supposed to be the only difference. They're supposed to have the orange throat and robin's egg blue, as well as the greens on the body and striping. but like you said, I'll get pictures tomorrow...
  9. That's fine. I'll get pictures tomorrow to show you what I mean in terms of the difference.
  10. I will. Farmer, they are indeed supposed to be the same color. The reason the color was introduced was because of the KVD1.5 and the Silent Stalker. They're the exact same in the SK catalog.
  11. Oh man, I love bunny. Used to live on it when we were kids. My Grandmother would fry rabbit over chicken every time. She made the most excellent white gravy with it, too. /hungry now
  12. I beg to differ. They're finished in the catalog, my 2.5's are painted exactly like the deep divers, and the 1.5s at bass pro are now "finished." I called over to ask one of the guys earlier today. Like I said, I'm not upset in the least. I like the baits, and dig the company. The little goof is pretty darned funny though.
  13. Most DS and wacky plastics are fine in the 2-2/0 range. I've not really found anything that can't be done in that range. Currently I'm in love with the Gamakatsu Wicked Wacky. Oddly, they hook nothing like a Kahle or Circle. The eye position makes a huge difference, as such the hook really tends to act more like a traditional "J" hook on the set. That's not saying that you need to power set them, but they don't need a slow sweeping set, like a circle, either. I'm really, really, really liking these hooks so far, and I can only see that increasing. The only size I've used thus far is 1/0 I see no reason to change that.
  14. I don't know that we'll see the effects right off. I would think that the majority of American distributors have their product for the season, and the flow should be fine. Unless there's a major change in things, next year it will be tough to get a lot of the JDM products.
  15. Super jerkbaits. They're a slow rise bait, lots of roll and a ton of action. Better bait for me than Pointers. Colors I've always done good with are the TN Shad Ito, Hachiro Reaction, Ito Natural, and Smallmouth Bass. Best advice, don't do it, you'll only want more.
  16. Yeah, there are no stripes, the range is missing, the greens on the body is missing, and the blue is missing on the head.
  17. Oh bluegill is far and away the best color for me. It's just funny that the 1.5 isn't finished all the way. Like I said, it doesn't matter at all, I'm sure, but it sure is amusing to see!
  18. Thought this was pretty amusing. I've been waiting for KVD 1.5, as well as Silent Cranks in bluegill since early in February. I found a couple in bluegill in my travels, but never the 1.5. Finally got it today. What do you see is funny in the picture? Not that it really matters, but it really is pretty funny. (I'd post the three 2.5 models I have but they're not at hand. All of them are painted the correct way.)
  19. The doggone part of it is that the stupid bait works. It works well, as a matter of fact. Anymore, there are only a handful of baits that I don't change at least the hooks, and quite a few that I change both rings and hooks.
  20. I hate catching big fish on light lines, it has a tendency to do too much damage to the fish. That said, we were fishing dink smallies on a river in WI that will go unnamed. I had about 15 fish up to about 14" and just having a blast. Cast next to a big rock mid current and my line just started peeling. ended up a 22" fish that was in excess of 7. Caught her on 4lb Seaguar spooled on a Sustain 1000 set on a Loomis SMR750-S.
  21. Clackin Raps and Xraps in slatwater colors like Mossback shiner don't work. That's why they had to turn them into freshwater colors, so they would work.
  22. There are also some of the GSP lines that aren't braided, they're twisted then fused with a coat similar to teflon. There are also lines that are"simple "bunched" rather than being braided. Some of the older Cortland lines were like that, a multi strand outer layer with a solid internal core, coated with whatever it was that they used.. In the process described from what I've heard of the nano, it's not woven or braided in any way. It is gathered and fused, not braided.
  23. I don't buy into the blade colors at night, or bait colors at night. I can count the number of fish I've caught on a "night" spinnerbait on one hand versus the many thousands I've caught on the same I use during the day.
  24. Doesn't sound like a braid at all to me. It sounds fused.
  25. I wish I had a scale at home so I could see the actual difference in weight between an Owner ST36 in #6 and a Katsuage #6. There can't be that much a difference.
