I am not sure they are still offering the "original" Bucco. I was on the Falcon website and they list the Bucco micro and this new SR series but not the original series with non micro guides on it so I am not sure if it will be offered going forward
I was very interested in these rods until I found out Falcon had moved these rods to China now not so much--I hate to see Falcon taking some of their rods overseas
I have some newer "higher" priced rods that I love but I also have several All-Star rods from when they were built in Texas and I find myself putting them out on my deck when I am going fishing about the same as my newer rods. If they work and they have that "feel" you do not even think about retiring them. my understanding is Morgan McCain is building rods in Texas again--if he is based on his All-Star history I'm in
I do the same as Catt--do not have much hard bottom in the lakes I fish so I do not do much bottom dragging but I have had pretty good luck flipping and pitching them--seems to add a different presentation to the baits that the fish have not seen or like because I have been pleasantly surprised with the results when I started flipping and pitching with them
A very close 2nd to GY senkos is the Gambler Ace--really have a great shimmy and they smell like Garlic which I think helps the fish hang on longer--Have had a lot of success with Gambler's products--the Ace and Fat Ace have been very productive for me and they are priced more reasonable than GY senkos but I still use GY a lot and buy them from Overstock or Tackle warehouse during sales=-give a bag of the Aces a try- All the Gambler products are very good baits and have caught me a lot of fish
I agree--Arthur has set up residence in my finger knuckles--between that and the fact that my eyes are not what they use to be makes tying a knot a challenge some days--but I am not complaining--I am still able to go fishing and have a great time and am grateful for that but find myself using a spinning rod and reel more and more for techniques that I use to use my baitcasters for
With you Big Bait on Powell rods--have several and think they are a good rod--just their QC is terrible--last 2 Powell rods I bought from Tackle Warehouse the eyes were not even close to be straight down the rod--the person must have been drunk to do a job like this or just did not care at all--Tackle Warehouse took them back ad replaced them--these two were also not straight--returned these again and the next two that came 1 was pretty good and the other was not totally straight but I decided to live with it with the thought that I am done with Powell rods--they have a great blank but their QC leaves a whole lot to be desired--got tired of returning rods--just gave up-will not buy any more Powells
Try the Owner Twistlock Light hook--they are a small diameter wire hook for small profile baits--I use them and would recommend them for any small worm fishing
For me Scott is not near as bad as far as advertising as his dad or Bill Dance--I know and am old enough to remember these guys fishing back when to appreciate what they have done for the sport but both of them need to figure out how to plug there sponsors with out taking up the entire show with nothing but that --the Linder's--Mark Zona and a couple others have figured how to plug sponsors without making it the whole show so it can be done but that is just my take on it--it can be youtube or tv--just watch what interests you and you can handle and click by the others
Sadly or maybe wonderful depending on how you look at it I have enough plastics to last my GREAT grandchildren for a good while!!
Sir-Fortunately- you do have the dreaded fishing plastic hoarding disease--do not try to fight it--just enjoy it!!
