I fish a lot of deep water on a highly pressured lake. We do real well with shakey heads in 30-40' range with 8 lb test. Most guys around here throw jigs, worms, cranks, and swimbaits.
Has anyone had any luck with the Ned rig in 30-40' range?
I own 10 lews reels and 4 Abu revos.(2 s, 1 sx, 1 gen 3 winch)
I have replaced a few worm gears on the revos. I have replaced 2 clutch assemblies on the lews.
I like both reels but the customer service is top notch at Lews. I will purchase more Lews reels in the future.
I will also buy a revo if I can get them at a discounted rate.
Lew's does sponsor some college teams and high school teams. I started a high school team at my last job and Lew's gave these kids a good discount to get them started. They was able to purchase 2 rod and reels there first year at a discounted rate. Seems like an awesome way to get more kids involved in a life long activity.
I contacted numerous companies about some type of discounted program and no one had anything like what Lew's offered.
I have a 95 190 nitro with a 150 Mercury EFI. I am trying to weigh my options.
I can repower this boat with a 150 HP 4 stroke for $10,500 with a 5 year warranty.
A 175 HP pro xs for 12,500.
The boat is in great shape to be 20 Years old. Resale will not be a problem because whatever I normally have I keep until it is scrapped.
I want to have a boat that is efficient to fish out of everyday. I live on Pickwick lake. I thought about just going and buying a new tin boat (can't afford a new glass boat). I fish quite a few pot luck tournaments that the boat needs to be set up for.
I have looked at used boats but prices are outrageous and you could be buying someone else's problems. Not completely opposed to this option.
Thoughts?
We had 70 degree weather 2 days ago and the fish was being caught in 12-15' range.
Temperature Dropped 42 degrees yesterday and we had 1/2" of ice/sleet last night. Today's high is 32 with a low of 17.
Saturday's high will be 55. I know the water temp will have dropped a degree or two.
How does snow or ice on the land effect bass movement? (With melt off or run off
Will they still be in same areas?
I caught an alligator gar on a spro frog. It was about 3' long and was the hardest fighting fish I have ever caught. I lost my frog that day because those things have tons of teeth.
I ordered some of these based on Roadwarrior's sticky. I can't wait to get to try them. I hope they will produce because none of the tackle stores around here new what they were.
Hopefully, it will be my own little secret weapon.
I have varied my retrieves and changed my colors. I have not changed brands or changed sizes.
The way I caught the fish the other day was with a straight retrieve. I tried to duplicate it and catch more fish with no luck.
I have about been trying to catch some fish with the Trap for about 3 different fishing trips. THe water temp is between 53 and 58 depending on the time of day. The water is slightly stained. I have only managed one fish. I have caught fish in the same locations using other baits.
I have to be doing something wrong because everyone else I talk to about this location, they are wearing them out on the trap.
I have no clue.
I am fishing pickwick for the first time ever this weekend. We are going to put in at Waterloo boatramp. Could someone please give some advice on where I should start fishing? I am new to the sport and I need all the help I can get.
Thanks
