  1. I've been doing this a couple years now, I know what I'm doing I work for a lake management company. But I hear what you are saying I am just taking orders ;D First of all I want your job!! also orders are orders, lol. I doubt you would do it to your own lake/pond though right?? lol Just wondering if it was my mistake luck the last time or if my results were common.
  2. I wouldn't drop timber until the end of June. Especially if its a pond that you have made. If its a local lake that you frequent these areas alot you might ruin the bite for a while so wait until they move a little deeper. Of course I fish Alan Henry so everything is late here. They might already be deeper where you are at. Just my 2 cents. I stocked a pond one year then structured it the next year to early and didn't get near as many bites as I did before I structured it. Its kind of like throwing a deer blind up 30 minutes before you hunt an area. The deer just wont come in.
  3. Any Black/Blue Jig 1/4oz to 3/4oz All I do is bounce it let it sit, bounce it let it sit, drag it let it sit, drag it let it sit. I caught a 7lbs Largemouth and all I did was literally bounce it twice and let it sit there for about 3 minutes with her staring at it. Give these jigs a try http://www.blackwaterjigs.com They come with rattles, a trailer, 60 strand skirt. They are pretty good. Here is a picture of one that I use. Its actually the jig that caught the 7 lbs Largemouth. I like ordering online because you dont have to pay tax.
  4. I like these for Largemouth.... http://www.blackwaterjigs.com/poisontailjigs.htm and for Small Mouth I use a Arkie Jig usually just get them at Wal-Mart when I'm fishing a smallie lake. No smallies where I'm at.
  5. lol, Mrs. Bairds and Sara Lee would be screwed!!
  6. Seriously.....seems odd that he has a patent produced 2 years after Brent started selling these. Which means they were probably being manufactured way before then. Hmm...I think I will find something that doesn't have a patent yet and get it patented myself.
  7. The only thing that gets me is that he is suing over the legs of and pincher of the bait. Which mimmicks a crawfish. If I mold a bait that looks like a crawfish then get a patent does that mean that no one else can produce or even sell a crawfish bait?? What about other baits? Can everyone that sells a football head jig be sued by the inventor of the football head jig??
  8. Try a Grande Bass Rattlesnake they are insane. Not sure if they float but I was on a boat as a Co-Angler and very jealous of the boater who did have them. (He wouldn't even sell me one for 10 bucks)(He Won) I still haven't bought any but he was putting them on a 1/2oz shakey head jig.
  9. That may be the case. Get a settlement!! Maybe they are trying to force these Companies to buy the Patent?? Who knows. Guess we will see but like you said it can and probably will take forever.
  10. Pretty ridiculous either way. Why would you wait until multiple people were using them to sue...sounds like to me he sat on it and waited so he could sue more people. Why didn't he sue the first person who copied it instead of waiting until he could sue multiple companies. He just wants to make money without actually having to work. I guess business was bad this year.
  11. You know what, I was actually thinking...All this guy did was prove that Xcite Baits, and other small companies that were named...have a great product. I mean he's obviously right in there with companies such as Strike King, Berkely, and YUM right?? Why else would he be getting sued with them, lol.
  12. I don't think we will get much out of Brent on this. He's to professional to respond to one guys antics, lol. Plus not a good idea to air it out when its not finished. I'm guessing its not finished since it was file on April 9th, 2010. I e-mail Brent all the time and I had to find it out during a Search, lol. Plus I tried asking him and he said its not his place to put it out there. Good guy Brent Is!!
  13. I was doing some searching on Strike King and other name brand companies and noticed this. Who the heck is Braxton McNaughton?? He's actually suing alot of people, lol. Plaintiff: Braxton McNaughton Defendants: Strike King Lure Company, Northland Fishing Tackle LLC, Pure Fishing Inc, Big Bite Baits Inc, Venom Manufacturing & Distributing Company Inc, Mizmo Inc, Jackall LLC, Yum Bait Company, Jann's Netcraft LLC, Outkast Tackle Inc, Classic Fishing Products Inc, Poor Boy's Baits Inc, Xcite Baits LLC, *** and D & J Plastics Inc Thats pretty insane. Does this guy think he can take on people like Berkely. I just thought it was pretty crazy what does everyone else think?? 35:145 Patent Infringement is the complaint. Here Is The Link!!! I would love to hear what everyone thinks about this. One guy takes on multiple companies. Big Companies, Small Companies, Garage Ran Companies. What a joke!!!
  14. AlluringBats 7" Hookup - HuckleBerry Color - Slap it on a jig head and go fishing!!!
  15. I fish Lake Alan Henry. Mostly Murky and submerged mesquite or cedar!! There is some grass in there as well. Alot of submerged rock faces off to the South.
  16. Awesome with all the great articles and the good advice iceintheveins gave me I have a few things I'll try when I get back on the lake.
  17. Good catch on the wandering and wondering bit there, lol!!! I'm just wondering what how other people are using their cranks. That way I'm not wandering around the lake and just throwing it and not using it incorrectly. I'm great with plastics, jigs, spinners, buzz baits, and chatter baits. I'm just wanting to know a little more about the crank. Add another weapon to my arsenal so to speak. Does anyone know of any videos on the web??
  18. I was wondering if anyone could shine some light on fishing crankbaits. I usually just use them to locate fish especially in deeper water. Is there any other use for crankbaits. I have heard of people carolina rigging crankbaits. I would think you would get hung up every 5 minutes doing this. Any advice will help. Thanks in advance. Korey
  19. I am currently putting a Bass Fishing team together. This year we will only be fishing near Lubbock, Tx. Lake Alan Henry of course but possibly making a couple of 3hr trips to a couple of distant tournaments. Just trying to make the point we probably wont be leaving the state. I have contacted companies about just me being sponsored but how do you approach someone about getting a team sponsored? I have my own Tackle Business and will be sponsoring the team myself as well. Do I approach them as I am the owner of "Business" or do I approach them as I am the owner of "Business" and the Captain of the "Business" Tournament Team? This will be a three man team. We will fish a series of 2 man team tournaments and also individual tournaments. Any information would be great. Thank You, Korey
