  1. Thank you. I will look him up.
  2. I am traveling to Vermont around July 16 to visit a friend. If time allows while I am there I would love to fish Lake Champlain. I am staying around Ferrisburg. Anyone that is from that area recommend a guide for smallmouth fishing?
  3. I just purchased a used fiberglass boat that the tag registration decals have been painted on. The decal will have to be changed because the boat changed states. Not sure what kind of paint was used. What would be the beat way to remove without damaging the gel coat?
  4. I am looking at a used 2004 Xpress X19. I ended up selling my sea ark to get something a little bigger and faster. The boat is 6 hours from my house. The guy told me that this boat does not really have rod storage. It is a dual console. He is an older gentlemen and that did not bass fish and it just seemed off that a boat like this would not have decent rod storage. Any one have any ideas before I waste 12 hours of driving?
  5. I am looking at a 2004 Xpress x19 with a Yamaha 150 4 stroke. I need an aluminum boat for where I fish. I already have a 1999 zx180 with a 2 stroke 115. If I sell my boat for what I think, I will be spending about $8000 difference. I can put a new 4 stroke on my boat for $10,000? I need a boat that will last me a lifetime. I know the SeaArk hull will last me a lifetime. The layout of my Seaark is not that great. My question is is the Xpress worth the price difference?
  6. Will running Mercury quicksilver oil in a Johnson 115 hp be fine?
  7. I ended up mounting it to a transducer board with the original bracket. I moved it above the bottom of boat and hoping it will be fine. Also installed a high speed transducer that I already had on the boat. I am getting on plane readings and it is out of the way so the mega doesn’t pick it up. I am coming from a 798 unit so the picture on the mega is unreal compared to what I have been used to.
  8. I have a Seaark Zx180 aluminum bass boat. Just purchased a Helix 10 G2n mega. Installed today but it was raining and didn’t get to test the transducer location. The way the hull is on this boat I have it mounted in about the best spot. My concern is this mega transducer is huge and I am worried about breaking it off. It is mounted a little above the bottom of boat. Do they make any special bracket to help keep it from hitting stumps or any obstruction?
  9. I just bought an aluminum Sea Ark Zx180 bass boat. It has a livewell in front and rear. It only has a way to pump fresh water into the system. It has a pipe that plugs the hole and the water overflows at the top of the hole in the pipe. I fish some small fruit jar night tournaments and I am not sure this livewell will keep the fish alive. Water temps are in the upper 80s and I always cool the water with ice blocks and use please release me or catch and release. Should I add a recirculating pump? If so, how difficult is this? Should I just use a pump that has the suction cups on bottom? Or is a pro air system or oxygenater the way to go? thanks
  10. Thanks. Is the triton 17tx a good boat? I have an opportunity to buy one that was won in a tournament for about $5000 less than retail.
  11. How stable is this boat? Right now I have a nitro 190 and I am not sure how I will like going to a aluminum boat.
  12. Would it be worth the price to purchase the HDSI transducer.
  13. I think mine must be the compact transducer.
  14. I have the transducer that came with the unit. It is not the HD unit. I have had the unit for awhile.
  15. I have not seen a helix 10 except for in the store. My partner uses the side and the down scan to find fish with the hds 10 with a lss2 structure scan box. He scans on 455 most of the time and switches to 800 to clean things up. The helix 10 with side and down imaging.
  16. My fishing partner has Lowrance hds 12 and hds 10. We are able to scan ledges and are able to pick out schools of bass. I have a humminbird 798. It Does good at showing structure, cover, and bait fish. However, I can't see schools of bass with it no matter how I change the settings. I really like humminbird and would like to purchase a Helix 10. Does anyone have a comparison between a helix 10 and a Lowrance hds 10? Does anyone have any screenshots of schools of bass with a helix 10?
  17. I have a 7'2" mh glass Tatula rod that I love throwing chatterbaits with. Would this rod be a good rod to throw 3/4 ounce and under hollow belly swim baits with an exposed hook?
  18. I was going to try and drift with the bait. Kind of like you do with live bait drifting in the current. Really wasn't sure what size weight and what the best bait would be to use for that. Would be trying to imitate bait fish so maybe a fluke Jr would be good.
  19. Has anyone had any experience with drop shot in tail race waters?
  20. I would like some options. Using this for anything except heavy cover and topwaters. Need something affordable. Price is an issue. I don't like braid due to no slack line sensitivity for bottom contact baits. I like the sensitivity of floro vs mono. The only copolymer I have used was yozuri and it felt like a rubber band compared to sunline floro. I use big game for topwaters but for bottom contact baits it feels like rubber band. Line diameter is something I like to keep smaller because of fishing in heavier current. Smaller diameter, sensitive, slack line sensitivity, affordable, and low stretch. Probably not going to get that from all in the same line. Just hoping and seeing what is out there.
  21. Need some advice on a tackle bag or box. Right now I have a spiderwire bag and it is too small to store what all I use. I want something that I can pack a seasons worth of stuff and just replenish as I get low. I am in need of something that is easily transported. I fish out of a 17.5' alumacraft and I can't leave my stuff outside under the shed. I also fish tournaments with two different people in their boats. I need something that does not take up more than 2' of floor space. I want something that I can just grab and go. I keep all my crankbaits and topwaters in a double sided Plano box. The rest of my stuff is in the 3700 boxes. 50% of my fishing includes soft swimbaits. The rest is crankbaits, jigs, chatterbaits, and soft plastics. Still have not found the best way I like keeping my soft plastics. Thanks
  22. Tough day of fishing. Highs in the mid 30's with a north wind of 10-15. However, I did end up catching 2 bass on this rod with a chatterbait. One 2lb and one was 4 lbs. The rod handles really well. Both fish were hooked in the top of the mouth through the hard part of the fish. The tatula has a little more backbone the the Rick Clunn rods. The 4 lb fish dove right at the boat and the rod did what is was designed to do. I didn't lose either fish. I am really satisfied with the rod so far.
  23. I have had them for over 5 years. I am rough on all of my equipment. I try to clean them once a year. I will make sure I am not over lubricating the reels.
  24. Thanks. I did contact them they are shipping me some. Should be in here in a couple of days
