  1. Way to overreact. The statement says,"I even thought about bow fishing for them, but I think it is illegal...anyone want to join me and try it?" (Note that this isn't a direct quotation) Read that and tell me you don't get the idea that he's going to try and bow fish them... Avid's just looking out for those amazing fish that bass86 is lucky to have a chance to catch!
  2. How do you guys manage to get permission to fish?? There are some HUGE fish in the golf course ponds around me; I'm looking forwards to fishing them this spring (And NOT getting caught)- I'm going into Law Enforcement...an arrest would be bad!
  3. If you want to find out if they are carp toss in some frosted shredded mini wheats- the carp go crazy for them! They also make a good carp bait, get some in your hand and get them wet and then squeeze them into a ball and squeeze the water out of them!
  4. Cool cool- Let us know what you think of the others too!
  5. So did you order the whole collection?
  6. No- I emailed Glen Lau to ask about it. They said,"It is something that we are looking into."
  7. I was looking @ buying them second hand...
  8. How are the two other videos: "Surface Lures and Buzz Baits" and "Bass in Heavy Cover"? Are they worth it too? I can get Bigmouth, Bigmouth Forever, and The Feeding Habits of Bass for $40 total, are the other two worth the extra $30 it'd cost to get the whole collection?
  9. I got out yesterday for a few minutes before a hockey game and scouted out a new pond. I saw bass rolling on minnows/something out towards the middle, but I didn't have time to get anything to throw out there; I only had my ultralight and a worm rival (http://www.stopperlures.com/worm_rival.htm) with me. (Btw- great lure- try it out! I've caught my 2 biggest bass on a black one. Both were 5-6 lbs, which is a pretty good sized michigan fish! Tie on a snap swivel and then clip in the worm rival. Pinch one or two small split shot about 18" up from the worm. Slowly drag it across the bottom- Absolutely deadly on big (10"+) gills and bass. Tip with 1/2 a night crawler if you want.) I'm going to get out there on friday and toss a rat-l-trap and maybe some topwater before dusk. Thanks for the tips; I'll look into them. I really need to get a canoe or jonboat!
  10. I'm just looking for some tips for fishing the small ponds and lakes I usually fish. Most of the ponds are at most half an acre and are interconnected by pipes under the road (if the water is high enough). The 2 lakes I fish are 1 or 2 acres and have tons of weeds. I just got back into fishing after about 3 years off and have yet to catch a bass this year (the salmon and steelhead are calling my name this year), but need to before winter gets here (I'm in Michigan...it isn't too far off.) Any tips? It's started to get cooler here so I'm going to downsize and slow down my presentation. Last week when I went, I threw a texas rigged senko all over the little ponds without so much as a tap...
  11. I'd love to head up into some creeks, but there aren't any...Unfortunately this lake is spring fed (I think)...and I don't have a boat.
  12. It's supposed to be back up to 67 on Friday and 73 on Saturday; will the fish still be lethargic? By the way- if you're wondering where I am- I'm in West Michigan.
  13. The temp right now is 68. It's supposed to storm all night (thunderstorms) and be down to around 43 by sunrise tomorrow. Should I even bother going out fishing tomorrow? I fish a small lake, maybe 1 or 2 acres at most with tons of weeds. The water level is currently down at least 4 or 5 feet. Any advice?
  14. I bought them and the cd that comes along with it has a little video about rigging them; basically texas style, minus the weight. I haven't tried them out yet, but I can't wait to get out and hit some slop mats with them
  15. I will admit that I bought the Helicopter lure; I got the whole kit on clearance for about $10. I actually caught a lot of fish on them (but only at one lake it seemed). I'm not sure if it was something they'd never seen or what, but for that lake, it was dynamite. I will admit that some of Rapala's ads definitely make me take a closer look at their lures, but I generally buy based on friends' recommendations... I recently bought Doug Hannon's new "fishing snake"- it hasn't arrived yet, but I expect it to work well. I had an older version of the lure (early 90's I think) and it was absolutely deadly in the slop.
