  1. I've been blown away by the consistent performance of their PQ's... definitely the best sub $100 BC reel that I've ever fished with.
  2. I have the M version of that rod and have been very pleased.
  3. Why would you expect them not to price match??? That's their M.O. I've been ordering from them for years and the shipping addition is a new policy for them. Maybe if I hadn't been spoiled before it would be different. I've probably given them over $5k the past 3-4 years, so they've had plenty of my business. My point was that if you're going to guarantee lowest prices and price match to the point you add the other site's shipping but then won't honor their discounted offer... that is not an actual "price match." Here's the math: Cabelas: 2x $119.99 => 239.98 - $20 coupon for over $150 => $219.98 + 18.95 shipping => 238.93 TW: 2x $119.99 => 239.98 x 1.0775 tax => $258.58 + 18.95 shipping => 277.53 I had no problem at all until they wanted to add in the shipping charges using the reasoning it was a "true" price match when in reality it was not. They were "truly" nearly $40 more and $20 over without the shipping addition. Just keep the free shipping as with every other time I've ordered and I'm happy. That's all I'm sayin. Awesome deal by Cabelas and I'm more than happy to send some of my business to them... I just like to give TW first shot at my dollar.
  4. Tough game to lose.... again.
  5. Awesome deal that looks like it may have overwhelmed the site (now saying to call if you want to order). I tried to have TW price match it but they wanted to charge me Cabelas' shipping charges without honoring the Cabelas' $20 off $150 coupon and keeping the tax on the order despite me not having to pay taxes at Cabelas. Not real happy with TW at the moment. I could see making it "even" with the shipping but that's bush league to not honor the coupon and tax to truly make it "even."
  6. Raul... you need to get that cool pic back up! I go wacky jig head more than anything else.
  7. 2012 champs.... OKC!!!!
  8. Welcome to the club! That is a sweet reel that can be used with a ton of applications, but I'd vote for #2 or 3 that you mentioned. It would also probably be fine for the small cranks, but I'm personally more comfortable with a 5.2:1 for that application. Awesome reel for both weightless Senkos and light T-rigs. The 10# CXX should be just fine as well.
  9. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised to see some new shows on last night. I thought it was going to be another 1-2 weeks before that happened. Time to fill up that DVR.
  10. Looks like some cool lakes you guys manage... and there are some pretty nice spots and LM in there as well. That would be pretty cool riding along with one of those shock studies. Good luck with your management strategies.
  11. Sounds like someone needs a beatin. Awesome detective work by the way!
  12. Also a fan of 8# Invizx for spinning gear.
  13. Just broke down and picked one up...
  14. Bummer... sure being hyped up on tv. Thanks for saving me a bunch of $$$.
  15. Big thanks to BlueBasser86 (Clayton) for hooking me up with some top notch homemade jigs, Eakings jigs, a LC Pointer (chart shad- perfect color here right now) and a RC Bgill crankbait. I've always gone budget style on my crank and jerkbaits, so I'm looking forward to fishing with these upgrades. I'll definitely be putting all of these guys to good use. Thanks again and Merry Christmas to all.
  16. That's a bummer... hopefully he's alright because that's just not like an active BR member to not check in in over a month. The name/address also went to our e-mails, so hopefully he'll surprise you within the next 24 hours.
  17. Not sure on your price range, so I'll give you a couple possibilities that I have and really enjoy fishing with: My jig rod: Dobyns Champion Extreme 743 teamed with a Curado e7 My Senko/Ika rod: G Loomis NRX 893 teamed with a Curado e7 My crankbait rod: Lamiglas XL705 Glass teamed with a Bass Pro Shops Pro Qualifier 5.2:1 ***Many others swear by the Lamiglas Certified Pro CB rods (705 or 765) but I've never felt the need to upgrade. Other rods with full lineups that have huge followings at lower price points: Shimano Crucials, Phenix Recons, Powell Max, and St Croix Avids
  18. Thanks for setting up this online family and friends network... I've learned a ton of things over the past year, not to mention all of the gear I've subsequently accumulated.
  19. That's me as well. Bluebasser hooked me up and that package just keeps sitting there looking at me waiting to be opened. One more day!
  20. Wow... that's a crazy display. My kids love for me to put lights up but nothing like that's ever happening in my yard. I can only imagine how much 35k LED lights would cost.
  21. Merry CHRISTmas everyone... hopefully you can get out Monday morning to try out all of the new gear.
  22. That was good for a laugh... thanks for posting them.
  23. I have the "old" Citica on a back up rig of mine and seem to always forget how nice it is when I spend some time throwing it. You're not going to lose either way and while you're at it go ahead and put whatever line you have confidence in on it!
  24. I would definitely pull the trigger on a new Crucial over the "old" Cumuras. I can highly recommend the drop shot rod and enjoy fishing it just as much as my higher end spinning rods (GLX, NRX, Legend Extreme... granted it's not quite as sensitive as these guys).
  25. Well, at least we all agree that it's a nice rod at its price point.
