  1. I've been really impressed with the couple I have. They're certainly not in the same class as my Chronarchs or Curado E's, but it's probably the best sub-$100 reel around.
  2. These guys are awesome. The past couple years they've had a good selection of Yamamotos for the Black Friday sale... loaded up again with a years worth of Senkos.
  3. One of my "new" favorite techniques. I use everything from a Northstar 1/4 oz swim jig with a 4" Yamamoto grub to a 3/8 oz Dirty Jigs California swim jig with a 6" Roboworm swim tail. I use a 7 ft MHXF St Croix LTB to throw these on with 10# Yozuri Hybrid and it more than gets the job done for me.
  4. Clayton... there are obviously some things you mentioned that you do not want to be the "same" but it's cool that you have a lot of similarities. You're still really young, so think of all the positive changes that you can make now that your son will some day hope to emulate. Your future is all yours.
  5. Hopefully you can get what you think you can for those used Loomis rods. As far as your listed rods, the Powel is probably the best in that range with the Veritas being the best sub-$100. Personally I'd be all over clearanced Cumaras in that price range, but they're not on your list. Best of luck and don't sell yourself short on your skills not being "worthy" of any equipment!
  6. Never thought of this before. Tough call. I am just as happy catching fish with a jig, drop shot, or senko as I am on a swimbait, crankbait, or spinnerbait. I suppose I just want to succeed more than anything. Maybe I'm an A/B hybrid!
  7. BC... they sure made it interesting late and had me back on the edge of my seat for a minute. Great to see the Skins competitive again (past few years have not been much fun).
  8. RG3 is going to ruin your Thanksgiving.
  9. Chronarch, hands down winner of the category.
  10. Going out fishing with my dad at the break of dawn to chase holdover trout and throw swimbaits in case some pigs are on the prowl. Then football and eating til we pass out!
  11. Everyone needs a brother like that!
  12. Can't wait to get my hands on a sweet craw!!!
  13. Last year I picked up some Northstar jigs that I really liked and now I'll be trying out some of your jigs in 2013 since you're an active member-sponsor on here. Plus it helps that your jigs look freakin awesome. Thanks for the free shipping!
  14. A Kia will get you home, but wouldn't it be a lot more fun driving a Ferrari GTO if money wasn't an issue?
  15. We're blessed with some giant bass in the Norcal foothill lakes I fish due to all the trout and kokanee plants. Melones is in my backyard and in the last couple years the lake records have been dropping like flies. LMB 18.11 and hypothetically still swimming and a 8.6 spot. Trout records also fell in the last 2 years... brown 13.4 and rainbow 8.2 lbs. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a 20 pound LMB in there. Don Pedro (across the highway) has a LMB record of 18.9 and nearby Lake Pardee has a SM record of 9.13 (5 years ago) and the guy that caught her said he hooked and lost one by the boat that was even bigger. Time to start chasing some giants!
  16. Man that's awesome... I need to stick a gps tracker under your boat and follow you to your spots!
  17. I like that idea! I have a Chronarch 50e on my 893 with 12# trilene fluoro and can launch 1/4 oz jig heads out there pretty "good"... might have to switch that out to 6# YoZuri for a test run on hopefully getting even more distance.
  18. Hopefully your payoff is before or after the movie... that's going to be a tough 90 minutes in the theater with all the teenie girls. God bless you brother.
  19. I usually bring out 8 but it's rare for more than 4-5 of those to get any water time. If I use all 8 it's been a tough day.
  20. 6'10" MXF... specifically made for shaky heads but would also do well with top water, wacky style, drop shot, and other finesse techniques.
  21. x2, green pumpkin w/black flake = almost nonstop action
  22. That was awesome! They move down the line to #4 and, assuming no major surprised by K-State, Notre Dame, and Oregon, the SEC finally will not have a national champion. Where's all the national "experts" that said A&M had no business being in the SEC since they could never even win in the Big 12 and that Bama was better than some NFL teams? Absolutely made my day.
  23. He definitely goes 100% all out and has a granite chin (still can't believe he survived Diego's kick). Nice to hear he was a cool guy.
  24. Sweet craw looks about as close to perfect as I've ever seen... definitely going to get a handful of those guys!
  25. That's a great little story. I live in the sticks and have awesome neighbors that live just far enough away that everyone knows each other and get along really well. Sounds like I may be lucky in that aspect.
