  1. Nice giant spot and you won a sweet lure as a reward... not a bad day!
  2. As has been mentioned, call them and they'll make it right. 99% positive they do not charge you until an out of stock item ships either. I place 10-12 orders with them every year and have nothing but good things to say about them.
  3. Never had a problem with the palomar knot on FC and I use really light test out here.
  4. Also a fan of 4 lb Tatsu... with a nice smooth reel set
  5. Tip heavy = use a reel that is a little heavier. I have 4 LTB's and love them all. The pros by far outweigh the cons at that price point. If you narrow down to a couple potential choices post it and I'm sure you'll get some more solid advice.
  6. 1/4 oz Kastmasters launch a country mile, so I could only imagine throwing a 1 ouncer. I'd probably throw 8 pound line and a 2500 series spinning reel or a MH baitcaster with 10 pound line.
  7. My 5 wt NRX fly rod, Galvan reel, and GPX line unfortunately take me into the neighborhood. As far as bass gear goes, fortunately a ways away with my NRX 893 and Chronarch.
  8. 50e is definitely my favorite reel. I throw everything from 1/8oz darterheads with a 4" grub to 1/2 oz jigs... absolutely love it.
  9. I lucked out and picked what ended up being a great career for me (same as your x), but I would say you almost have to follow through with your dream of going back or you'll look back and regret letting the opportunity pass when you had the chance. It will never be perfect timing, so go for it now and reap your reward of doing what you love for the rest of your life.
  10. Bro... that's one upping the Allstate Mayhem guy. Incredibly bad luck but you're still here with your boys and have incredibly bright days ahead. You'll look back at this and laugh some day. Probably just won't be tomorrow...
  11. Thought for sure this was going to be an Abu and a much much smaller fish.
  12. Currently on sale at TW for $28-34... that's pretty reasonable if you go RW style and split it into 3 spools
  13. He definitely had it coming with the antics of acting wobbled from a jab. The hands down matrix defense has always been enjoyable to watch when he follows it up with a beat down like he did agains Forrest and Bonner, but he overdid it this time without any significant offense mixed in. He's far from fading at this point (as opposed to Liddell and company at the end of their careers)... Silva just doesn't get caught square with punches when he's actually trying to not get hit.
  14. BPS Pro Qualifier... picked one up for a loaner rod and enjoued it so much i bought two more to put "in the rotation". Unbelievable reel for $64.99 during the reel trade in events.
  15. I don't think they're available yet either. That being said, TackleTour gave it a surprisingly great review.
  16. +1... that's exactly what I do and I can get a surprising number of bags in there. You shouldn't have a problem getting 30 packs in 2 rows in a 3731.
  17. Wow, I'm pretty surprised to see hand washing turn into a Ford v Chevy debate. I definitely do not want to split bread with a dude that just opened up a dirty door handle, grabbed and pulled out his junk, went to the bathroom, and then opened the other side of the dirty door handle... and then touched food I was about to consume. I'm not a germaphobe, but the above is how a lot of illnesses/food poisonings are spread. Physicians/staff washing their hands is the #1 thing a hospital can do to cut down on nosocomial infections... pretty sure you'd expect them to do so before offering you any treatment. Hand washing after the restroom is a common courtesy... just isn't as common as it should be.
  18. Thanks for the specifics... definitely going to have to think about that. I didn't realize you could actually repair such a thing. I sent them an email with the pics but haven't heard anything back yet. I put this in as a Google search and found someone with a similar break that Abu did not take care of since it was more than a year since the purchase, but like TiNuts said the worst they can do is say no. I'll let you guys know how this plays out. Thanks!
  19. I finally got to put in some good time last week with the Revo PRM 20/GLX BSR803 combo (for small tubes) I purchased about 2 years ago. I had only put in 3-4 hours with the combo since I purchased it and was excited to finally go to a smallmouth fishery for a week so I could use it extensively. It performed great the first couple days, but on day three the reel literally snapped off during a cast. I instantly assumed the reel seat gave way on the GLX but was beyond shocked to see the Premier in 2 pieces. This set up has been sitting in a rod/reel cover its entire life and in no way had any "trauma" since I took it out of the box, so this is absolutely mind blowing. I've never had a bass rod break, let alone a reel. I never even considered warranties for reels and wrongly assumed they were lifetime like high quality rods (reel retails for $249), but the Revo is only warrantied for 1 year. I am appreciating my Shimanos even more and more at this point and feel a bit ripped off by Abu not standing behind their product. Thanks for letting me vent...
  20. Lucky Craft LV500 for me with the Red Eye Shads taking over if I assume I'll be losing a few.
  21. Drop shot or DD crankbait.
  22. Always fished for trout and salmon with my dad since I was a little kid and enjoyed just being on the water. Once I got out of college the majority of my time was flyfishing in streams and high country lakes. Never had an interest in bass fishing until my dad's buddy basically gave me his old aluminum bass boat when he upgraded to a new rig. That "free" boat led me to my addiction of bass fishing that in just 3-4 years has resulted in a couple giant tackle bags and 21 new rod/reel combos that I had to have to make sure I have a set up or two for every technique imaginable. Fortunate my wife hasn't killed me yet.
  23. And a 2+ week wait before they even ship. And the wrong items in your order. And unreturned emails...
  24. Wow, that puppy is sweet. Thanks for the vid and pic fellas... definitely has my interest.
  25. Anxiously awaiting them as well. So far Kittery Trading Post and AFL are the only active ones I'm aware of. Only a matter of time before TW, BTD, and THUT announce their sales (likely 15%, 20% and 20-25%, respectively).
