Tatulas have been really well received and I think it's probably more "tackle snobs" or fans of other manufacturers that call them really bulky. This is coming from a borderline tackle snob and Shimano fan for what it's worth. Anyhow, I have reels that I enjoy fishing from Lews, Daiwa, Abu, and Shimano, but in my experience the quality and durability is just better with Shimano. The new Curado is nowhere near a "silver G series"... have you seen the pics and the specs? They're an upgrade from the E series this time around. In order for you to make the right decision for you, you're probably going to have to check all 3 out in person to see which you like best.
