It is crazy that they routinely sell "competitor" brands for above retail. I just figure it's a way to push novice anglers (in the sense of the tackle they like) to the BPS brand since that's obviously their biggest profit margin. Btw... I was just able to use that coupon on some 22LR ammo plus free shipping. I had a momentary window of satisfaction with BPS

Right there with you. One of the perks of being in NorCal is getting next day delivery (standard) when you order by 1:00 or so. I made a couple orders on the 28th, including a rod, and chose UPS since a buddy of mine makes the deliveries. On the 30th I ordered a reel and a number of other things that shipped with GSO (California-only delivery company)... that order arrived 12/1 while one of my 11/28 orders finally left TW's warehouse today and the other is allegedly going out tmw. Apparently the "UPS bin" filled up quickly with all of the Black Friday orders and the truck only picks up what it can regardless of how many packages TW has that need to go out. Absolutely ridiculous and I cannot believe UPS wouldn't just increase the pick ups from the warehouse to meet the demand. Looks like it's GSO for me from here on out.

Just read this tonight... absolute joke no one from DFW was available even with them offering to drive somewhere. If the 11.4 was on a certified scale hopefully that's enough to get them the record. I am curious to hear if they caught her where either of the last two records were caught or if we have a 3rd WR spot lake in CA.

Lol, yep... couldn't resist and sounds like neither could you! I figured while I was "there" I'd also pick up some glide baits for me and presents for others. I hadn't been planning on going out fishing for at least a couple more weeks, but I may have to squeeze in an afternoon just to try out the new rod.

Finally broke down and picked up the Dobyns HP 742c. Figured while I was already online I might as well spend another couple hundred on tackle since 20% off doesn't come around all of the time.

The only thing that isn't 20% off is Megabass if you call (monkey made me tell you)...

It's incredibly unlikely you'll be disappointed whichever route you decide to go. I have a handful of NRX's and Dobyns (Champions), and I've been more than happy with the performance of both of them. 20% off of an HP is a pretty solid deal. Best of luck!

Can't remember the last time I heard a pro refer to themselves in the third person... that was pretty funny.

More rocks than trees in the lakes around here now (tree line is a loooong way away from the water with the drought), but I'm most prone to forgetting just how well lipless cranks cast and lose those more than anything else above the water. However, the rocks have a serious appetite for jigs.

I happened to pick one of those up a few months ago for my pocket carry when I'm wearing cargo shorts. There are reports out there of it being snappy, but I didn't find it to be anything that would keep me from comfortably shooting 50-100 training rounds in a short window, and my wife even enjoyed shooting it with zero complaints. Nothing against the 380 (anything is better than nothing, even a 22LR), but the LCR loaded with Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel 38+P's carries some serious punch compared to the 380.

I was also surprised to see nothing was started... we decided to not buy the card since it seemed rather weak and unlikely it would be competitive. Nothing against Rousey, but it was such a shocker I would have gladly given $65 if I had a rewind button for the shock value alone.
