  1. A hemiarthroplasty is quite a bit "easier" than a total and you're going to be loving life again in no time. As others have stated, do your post-op exercises and therapy and you'll be so happy you'll wonder why you didn't do it earlier.
  2. The more expensive the lure and the more of them you have guarantees you will catch more fish. - The Bait Monkey
  3. Well, that self-imposed timeout from new tackle didn't last as long as I anticipated. I lost one of my new 110's last week and figured I better replace that with three more. Friggin Bait Monkey...
  4. Great find, especially for one of his best colors.
  5. Small tubes, probably also do well with finesse worms if you're using thin wire hooks.
  6. Shimano. Pops said so when I asked which brand I should go with when I bought my first set up right after college, and I can't say I've ever been disappointed. I also have Daiwa, Abu, and Lew's but if I had to choose one it'd definitely be Shimano.
  7. With the exception of the ever growing list of "excluded" brands from their sales I've been really pleased with all of my online orders there over the years (no stores in CA so no sales tax). Competition with Cabela's and BPS is a good thing... not real excited if they were to eventually go out of business with the BPS-Cabela's merger on the horizon.
  8. Very cool! State champ is definitely something to be proud of and awesome he stepped up against his rival when the stakes were highest.
  9. Have to respectfully disagree with eventually needing surgery down the road if it was truly "just" and isolated MCL sprain. ACL and meniscus tears (especially if s/p meniscectomy) do predispose someone to needing additional scopes or a total joint replacement down the road at a younger age vs a never injured knee, but in your case you should be fine in a few weeks. You'll be out of commission for 3 weeks but don't be surprised if it takes 6-8 weeks to start feeling normal again.
  10. Agree with the Stradic recommendations, but you could also save yourself some money and pick up a Sahara.
  11. Cool video and always get a kick out of the enthusiasm. i wasn't anticipating seeing the two of them out in the salt together... looked like good times.
  12. Nice review... also recently picked up that same 735c and have to say I was pretty impressed.
  13. Yamamoto, smoke w/black flake is as close to a guaranteed fish catcher as there is out here.
  14. Curado 70 7.2:1 (HG) on sale for $149.99 at American Legacy. 25% off is a pretty sweet deal since most places have kept its price at $199.99 and only marked down the 200.
  15. I need to stay out of the LATEST DEALS thread and self-impose a time out. I was pleasantly surprised how good these look and have to give them a try KVD Magic Ochos have been hot around here and figured I'd give flukes a break and try Damiki Definitely have enough jerkbaits now. Maybe. Hopefully. Never really spent much time with buzzbaits and figured this year it's time Definitely didn't "need" this but I found it with a nice steep discount and figured my drinks and lunch will be extra cool now.
  16. Wow, completely shocked and I would have thought he was even younger than that. Every time I saw him I couldn't help but think of Chet. Never heard of him having "life issues" that a lot of Hollywood seems to go through and he always looked pretty healthy. Sad to hear the news and thoughts and prayers to his family.
  17. Definitely coming out with a new model and more likely driven by the release of more palm friendly versions of the Tatula tapping into the Curado market. They'll release it with just enough of the higher end technology of the new Chronarchs to sway buyers back to them and then we'll see something new from Daiwa in 2 years...
  18. I've used those quite a bit for 4" finesse baits and definitely wouldn't go smaller than 6, and if the "nose" has any thickness to it you may want to go to a size 4.
  19. Defoe is on a rampage. Tearing it up on the current (recorded) season of MLF and BASS so far this year. Obviously super early in the year, but it would be cool seeing him take AOY from start to finish.
  20. Bro... sorry you took it that way because that was not the intention. This is a tackle addict thread and my comment was all in fun and definitely not meant to be snarky. You've been picking up some sweet gear and tackle that we enjoy seeing, so please keep them coming as you replenish. Somewhere in these 188 pages there are probably a number of posts by me as I picked up a handful of NRX's and other high end gear... definitely no hate coming from me!
  21. Not quite up to TxHawgs' standards, but I still picked up more than I had planned... Curado 70, 8.2:1 Never had a dedicated frog rod, and apparently it's time And some tackle... my first 110, a couple shell white Staysees, and Fx2 for the frog rod
  22. I had a similar decision to make when I upgraded a couple years ago... "v" won for me so I could also tow the kids around on a tube. There have been a couple times I would have liked having a bass boat such as when a co-angler (friend) likes to be up on the front deck with me, but outside of that I've been very happy with the "v."
  23. Finally came across a Mattlures Hardgill I had to pull the trigger on. Can't wait to get back out on the water!
  24. Never played but I'm in!
  25. Looks awesome! What's the charge to superimpose me in there holding that pig?!?!
