  1. March Madness (that's 10 ft up and untouched)...
  2. Dobyn's Fury 795 is tough to beat for that application and it comes in at a nice price point.
  3. That is crazy. Stock hooks? If so it may be worth going with a thin wire nano finesse on the back and a heavier gauge hook up front like a st-36. A lead strip up front would be another option.
  4. Agree with both the above. 68 would be perfect and since it's only 10-20 ft and you want to crawl a foot off the bottom I'd say rof 5 since that would be a bit easier to day off the bottom at a slow speed than the heavier rof 12. Crawling bottom or a more moderate speed retrieve and rof 12 would be the ticket.
  5. Crazy fella also loves the snow...
  6. I've had a lot of success with Spro's Little John Series. Something about their size/design seems to trigger the fish in the clear water around here.
  7. Always cracks me up how crazy he gets when he gets to play in the snow.
  8. That is pretty funny. They were just on there when I was checking out the specs a couple days ago... can't imagine the web designer forgetting the flagship rod. Maybe they're still in the process of getting that page uploaded to the new site.
  9. Holy 7 year old thread revival! Nice seeing Bassclary's posts again... that enthusiastic teenager hit the forums like wildfire and it's a bummer he hasn't been around the forums going on nearly 4 years now. Hopefully he's still finding time to fish while in college.
  10. Yeti Roadie. Pretty small footprint and keeps everything nice and cold with a couple ice packs.
  11. I had a bunch of gift cards saved up from the past couple+ years and picked up a Curado K and some random non-sale things for the boat. It was less busy than any other Friday Classic I've been to, but they were already out of a number of things as though they didn't even bother increasing the inventory for sale items (tackle). At this point it's more of a social outing tradition with my dad than anything else... sure miss the days of sales you'd be excited to see.
  12. Wow, that was intense. Can't even begin to imagine what that poor family is going through.
  13. x2 for NH... love throwing a fluke or tandem fluke in May/June.
  14. Lots of aggressive 2-3 pounders have been moving up the past couple weeks... hoping the big girls aren't too far behind. Apparently even carp like Ned rigs... Big one of the day.
  15. That's awesome and I'm looking forward to watching it on the 19th!
  16. I've noticed that same thing and it's admittedly weird not hearing him manage up all the Shimano gear. It seems like some rod/reel manufacturer would have been more than happy to sponsor the show since it's relatively popular.
  17. x2. I was traditionally a Yamamoto loyalist for senko-type baits, but after seeing a guy catch some giants on Ochos in a color Yamamoto doesn't offer I picked up a few packs and it's become my go to in certain situations. Great bait.
  18. I've been really pleased with the performance of the GC and like the kokanee color for where I typically fish, but I've been a bit disappointed with the MB. It has a pretty paint job and a solid swimming action, but since I usually throw in open water the hooks holding up tight to the body doesn't help me. If I had a chance to do it all over again, I'd probably buy another GC or 2-3 Shine Glides or S-Wavers.
  19. I bought a few packs of the Berkley heads for friends/family with a higher than usual snag risk to use when I take them out, and if you put a little superglue on it they work great. Excellent low price option IMO.
  20. Been a crazy winter in a not so good way with very little precip and unseasonably warm temps, but on a positive note it seems to have jumped the prespawn action up a month or so. Caught 30+ yesterday in 74* t-shirt/shorts weather and 58* water temps.
  21. Congrats on a pretty awesome January day!
  22. Wow, that was a crazy day. Can't imagine what that must've been like for the fans seeing that Vike's game in person. Looking like a Pats-Vikings SB with another title for the Pats.
  23. Hot diggity!!!!!
  24. Best of luck with all of that! When people aren't used to that type of weather thankfully it shuts everything down. We get a lot of snow out here but fortunately we do not get a layer of ice built up before the snow arrives. Be safe!!
  25. Bama's kicker wouldn't have been able to return to campus if they'd lost in OT. Crazy game that was a lot of fun to watch.
