  1. Tough to beat Nitto Ridge Grapplers for a good off road tire that's also nice once you're back out on the highway. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Nitto&tireModel=Ridge+Grappler&sidewall=Blackwall Aggressive Block&partnum=76TR0RIGXL&tab=Sizes
  2. Love this time of year when the lake is mostly empty, mornings feel like winter and the daytime temps rise up into the low 50's. Saw a lot of bait but not many fish around it... fortunate to still cross paths with some solid ones. Pops picked up a nice trout (very nice out here) on a Keitech. This fatty really, really wanted my burrito.
  3. It was Montana. They're an FCS level program but fill that 25,000 stadium every weekend and party like they're in the SEC. Grizzlies happened to win 57-0, so they probably didn't even notice it was cold out. ?
  4. It works even better than I thought it would. I can comfortably get 8-9 rods in one (including individual sleeves), but since I'll probably end up bringing 10-11 combos some days I figured I might as well buy a second one to give the spinning and baitcasting setups their own space.
  5. Nothing beats a snow game... (well, except for maybe if my daughter had taken the pic level ?)
  6. It was time for a new sipper and I have to say I'm not disappointed.
  7. Needed a better carry system for the kayak rods and I couldn't pass up the deal on an explorer.
  8. Little fella but I'll take topwater for as long as I can from pretty much any fish. This little fatty hit the 175 like a freight train.
  9. What a great read! Ol'crickety, thanks for laying that out so beautifully and convincing me I need to visit Ontario's backcountry!!
  10. Finally got the opportunity to take the kayak out to some bigger water. First scorable spot in the yak. Funny how the little fellas feel bigger than they are when you're right on top of the water. Pretty cool of these deer to come out for a swim as I was cruising along.
  11. Definitely interesting. A lot of speculation the boom in fishing tackle during the pandemic has burst and retailers aren't doing near as well as they had been the past couple years. If that's truly the case we should see some really good BF sales coming up in a few weeks. Hopefully we don't see any others going out of business regardless.
  12. Sadly, they just announced they're actually closing their doors and website. FALL30 30% discount is back on for most in stock items.
  13. Riggins cruising the yard with a flower looking for chicks...
  14. Needed some "louder" boxes to stand out from the others. I never realized the jdm tackle monkey made the usdm one look like a little mouse.
  15. Even topwater dinks bring a smile in the fall. A little better one on a popper. One of my better ones of the day. Another solid one to finish up the morning.
  16. Hasn't been worth it yet but I'm optimistic it will be! I went down that rabbit hole with a backhoe and accumulated way more swimbaits and gear than I'd ever need. I recently switched my Zillion HD over to a mid-sized swimbait rod (up to 3oz) and I really liked that combo during my first trip with it over the weekend. I have a couple Tranx 300's and a Curado 300 on my combos for the larger baits (both excellent choices) and a Curado 200 for my wake/rat/magnum topwater rod that handles up to 2-3oz well.
  17. Almost feel bad interrupting those great landscape shots. Fired up the smoker and smoked trip tip and mac & cheese...
  18. Thoughts and prayers for your dad and family. End of life is hard enough as it is when it's peaceful, seeing someone suffer just makes it that much worse.
  19. That was one of the most entertaining games I've ever had the pleasure of watching. I was on the edge of my seat rooting for the Vols and can't imagine the rollercoaster of emotions diehard lifelong Vol fans had to be experiencing.
  20. Couldn't pass up 30% off some small topwaters, crankbaits, and wake/swimbaits.
  21. Lots of early action for dinks but the legal aged fish seemed to all be hungover and asleep. As is always the case, still awesome being out there in the fall with hardly anyone else on the water. Pops with a little fella on topwater. Double hookup with a couple of giants. "Big" fish of the day
  22. I'm a fan of both and you'll likely be happy either way, but you may want to also consider the IMX Pro 845.
  23. Odds are if you send them an email with a pic they'll just send you a replacement for free.
  24. What a great day! The description of your drive reminded me of our trip out there 7-8 years ago. Beautiful part of the country and all those bass and isolated ponds make it that much better.
  25. Lots of good water that time of year, but it will be hard to beat the eastern shoreline for numbers and a chance to run into some giants. There are a few hotel options in Chester with others sprinkled around the lake. Great place to visit and a real eye opener to see how much of the surrounding area was torched by the Dixie fire.
