  1. Santa dropped this into my stocking Christmas morning and it quickly became one of my favorite sippers. My wife doesn't know the difference between the cheapest brandy and high quality bourbon, so I was beyond impressed with her pick.
  2. I'm a big fan of their 1910 and 1920.
  3. Been way too many weeks since I last made it out, and it was great having the spots come out to play and show interest in so many things. Alabama rig Crankbait Little John cb Rock crawler cb Magdraft with bonus shad regurgitation ? Pops wasn't getting quite as lucky as me but did cross paths with a planter. Nothing great but it doesn't take much to be picture worthy in December.
  4. Definitely can't complain since I'm fortunate to be in a nice rural area of CA with really good reservoir and stream fishing nearby, but if I could have a house and dock on any lake my top 3 would be Hayden Lake, ID, Lake Coeur d'Alene, ID or Flathead Lake, MT.
  5. The JDM and higher end reels are very appealing and I do have a few of those, but don't sleep on the Curado 150 MGL or even a Curado 200k if you prefer to stay domestic. I have a 200k on the IMX 843 and it's a workhorse of a combo.
  6. Can't say there's a "big" difference, but I will say if both of those are in your acceptable budget you'll eventually regret it if you don't go with the NRX+. The 852 is one of the most versatile sticks you'll ever find and it's a joy to fish with. Also, welcome to the boards!
  7. Bruins are having a great year... starting to feel a little like 2011, especially if they can tap into their inner Tim Thomas once the playoffs hit. It's been a nice treat to have so many games on ESPN+ instead of just catching them randomly on a national game.
  8. Not to go all white knight for the owner, but she's technically correct since it's just monk fruit and allulose.
  9. Berkley sure hooked me with these codes. Today they have buy 3 get 1 free on their hardbaits and it stacks with the 50% off code BELK50. Turns out to be 62.5% off and I couldn't pass up that deal to try some money badgers, stunnas and spy baits.
  10. My daughter's walk to class the other day... Riggins' first snow. Pretty confused and a little spazzed out. I'm looking forward to seeing him when we get a foot or more. Pretty sure nothing could distract Tucker from eating.
  11. Dang, that combination would have been worth taking a trip out to Tennessee ? Switched up my weekend evening sipper tradition for a coffee old fashioned tonight. Storm is coming in and the wife is wanting to watch a Hallmark Christmas movie... going to need some help staying up for this one.
  12. Couldn't pass up some deals to add to the swimbait collection. Crazy how inexpensive those savages are for a really solid SB. Burritos are great and I was glad to see TW is going to carry Hawg Hunters. Much more expensive than a Hudd, but at 20% off I was willing to give it a shot.
  13. Since I already have more rods than I need I clearly needed to add some more to the arsenal... Had to have the 700 Dobyns Sierra BFS rod to throw all those new BFS baits. Couldn't pass up a 40% off deal on St Croix: -6'10"MLXF mojo for finesse spinning on the kayak. -6'8"MXF mojo casting for topwaters and jerkbaits on the kayak. -7'4"H xtreme for the heck of it. Always intrigued but the price kept me away since I've been so happy with the NRX line. However, at 40% nocandefend... Also added the SLX 7'3" swimbait rod for the kayak since 8 footers are a bit much. Picked up the SLX BFS from JLS... always appreciate the premium lure as a gift. Put a Zillion HD on the 7'4" xtreme and that handle feels much better in hand than I'd expected. Really looking forward to throwing this combo next time out.
  14. There were some Berkley baits I was on the fence about since their retail is on the high side... 50% off sure took away that hesitation. Thanks!
  15. After seeing more small bait this past year than I can ever recall, I figured it was time to add bait finesse to my more traditional finesse tactics. Turns out, I was way more enthusiastic about ordering than I remembered, and it's possible the bait monkey spiked my evening decaf with some bourbon that night. Great deal on Rapalas. Really looking forward to throwing these little guys. Terminal tackle. And, finally, soft plastics.
  16. Awesome timing with that recommendation. I've heard it's a good sipper if you can find it around msrp (apparently there's a pretty big secondary market), and as I was walking past the liquor section on my way to grab some bread at the local grocery store today this puppy happened to be sitting in the case. Won't be cracking it open this weekend, but its time is coming...
  17. Not sure how well it would walk, but Rapala does make an ultra light pop that is 1/8oz and 1.5". After seeing those I'm pretty sure I "need" a couple.
  18. Last time out in the kayak I realized I didn't want to get my feet wet during winter and my wading boots weren't going to cut it with the pdl. Got these on a significant discount at Kittery and they're comfy and a lot lighter than I anticipated.
  19. Figured everything would be hard water this time of year and left the fly rod at home. Must be a spring around that spot because the rivers were iced over even at the lower elevations on the way to that spot in the canyon. Missed opportunity!
  20. Needed a Thanksgiving evening sipper and this turned out to be a nice surprise.
  21. Mixed it up this year and took a quick road trip to Montana for Thanksgiving. Good times!
  22. I submitted my order even with that 15% error. I'm sure they'll correct it for the final receipt to match the discounts, but if they don't get that quirk fixed soon I'd hate to be the one answering phones when they open in the morning.
  23. It's go time for TW if you're on the mailing list. 20% off with quite a few brands an additional 10% off. Sure hope I get a Christmas bonus because I'm about to spend it. ?
  24. Pretty awesome that brought up the sale. For kicks I threw some things from my wish list into my cart and there was a discount... bummer is it's currently defaulting to a 15% discount and the additional 10% for those listed brands doesn't factor in either. Probably for the best though, otherwise I would have been up way too late tonight!
  25. Spade tails, teanie meanies, little sluggers, fat boy worms and even reapers should all work for you. Seems like everyone throws roboworm around here, so I like working these into the mix just to show them something different (and they work!). Lightning shad and honeycomb are two of my favorite colors.
