  1. That was painful... 2 minutes left it looked like the Bruins would escape the series and move on to the second round. Reminds me of when the Warriors lost in the finals after having the best NBA season in history, but heck at least that was the finals and not the first round. This one will sting for a bit.
  2. Happened to stop by Total Wine & More in Reno while in town for my daughter's western region volleyball tournament. They had a few things opened up for samples, and while they were all good this one impressed me the most.
  3. I'd guess in the neightborhood of ROF 3-4. Slow enough it doesn't sink much on a brief pause but fast enough you can let it get down in the column a bit if you want to fish it deeper.
  4. Had a small window open up in my day and had to take advantage of the great weather and active fish. Didn't come across any big girls, but caught quite a few of these fellas. Wacky senko was the ticket when it was flat calm. Spinnerbait did the job when the wind picked up. These teeth are wearing out my thumbs, but it's a nice problem to have. ?
  5. Threw it for about 20 minutes today. No takers but I was impressed by the action for it being the mass produced version. Nice tight action with slow steady retrieve, super responsive to rod twitches or manipulating the reel and also looked good on burn/pause/burn retrieves. Very versatile and it'll be in my rotation until I inevitably lose it.
  6. 101 is definitely one of my favorites along with Buffalo Trace for a "cheap" sipper. Rare Breed is a whole 'nother level, but with its proof it's usually best enjoyed with some ice.
  7. Thanks for the inspiration. Lost a bit over 50 lbs in 2022 and have about 15 more to go in '23 to get where I should be.
  8. Had some crazy shows made for social media before its time. RIP.
  9. A little over that price point, but I'd recommend a Dobyns Fury 661/702 or St Croix Bass-X 610MXF paired with a Shimano Sahara 1000 during the 15% off Memorial Day sale at TW. The extra $30-40 would be well worth it IMO.
  10. 1. Put my dad on his PB (6+lbs). 2. Take my girls on a couple summer night fishing trips. Kids grow up way too fast.
  11. Took so long I forgot I even order this from TW during their Black Friday sale. Really curious to see how it does.
  12. Got the mojo back after a tough trip out last time. Lots of eager bucks with some solid ones mixed in for a 60+ fish day. Didn't see any active beds but a bloody tail on this one. Love catching quality spots. Always a little extra angry. Double hookup and had to get a pic. Pops would have liked to have traded his in. ?
  13. Headed to Clear Lake with Pops for our first "annual" trip since 2019 due to 'rona and the drought. New moon and warming April weather would surely mean incredibly good fishing, right? Nah, we got it handed to us like a couple novices who had never been on the lake nor bass fished. ? Best part of the morning... coffee from the hippie shop. Heavy winds and 56* water made for some tough fishing. Caught a nice crappie early on a drop shot. Figured it was a good sign. It wasn't. Pops with the only landed bass of the trip. #beastmode Of course the weather was absolutely perfect the morning we left. Odds are the fishing is incredible now and we were just a couple days too early. That said, still an awesome and memorable trip to spend that time away from everything with my dad.
  14. Apologies for the terrible glare, but these x-zone finesse baits look great for drop shot or even neds. Also "needed" some more trailers and swammers. Really looking forward to tossing these yamatanukis under some docks. Reminds me of a solid pieced ika.
  15. When the yard is a mess from winter but the lawn needs mowed...
  16. Made it out for another quick trip in the kayak. Ran into a few and excited it should only get better from here. Best spot of the day on a little swimbait.
  17. Goats and hay nets apparently don't mix. #mygoatsRidiots
  18. Went to our best local pizza saloon... Guinness and some pickle pizza were a great way to close out the day.
  19. Took out the kayak for the first time this year. Wasn't super excited to see they blocked vehicle access to the water with rocks (to keep trailers/boats out), but no way that was going to stop me on a nice day like this. Water temps were mid-50's, but I couldn't get them on anything other than senkos and small underspins. No plus sized fish, but just about all of them were fun size fish. She was kind enough to keep me company in the last cove before I had to head back in. No idea what she was saying, but she was pretty talkative. ?
  20. Spending some supervised time with the chickens. Pleasantly surprised he hasn't tried to make a chew toy out of one of them.
  21. Old fashion w/KC9 and a cigar by the fire Saturday evening after a fishing trip. Felt like I was on vacation.
  22. Couldn't pass up that Omnia 25% off jigs sale. These sleeper craws look pretty great in underwater footage. Hoping they deliver.
  23. Got a break in the weather. Water temps still cold for this time of year (49-51*), but we have a warming trend starting later this week that should start getting the fish to move up. Can't wait! Pops got us started off with a little fella. Well, at least it was legal. ? Best one of the day.
  24. Be careful. The first time I used a sneaky pete he snuck right in. ?
  25. Definitely feel as though I'd lost them if drag was tightened down all the way. Letting giants run with a finesse hook, smooth drag and 6-7# line gave me the chance to successfully land those fish. Same goes for my 9lb+ LMB PB I caught on the same setup. Inconsistent or locked down/broken drag would have very likely been lost fish. ?
