  1. Sometimes showing them something that falls a different way, looks a little different, etc is all it takes to get fish interested. Give it a shot and see what happens... you'll probably do at least as well as the "original" way.
  2. Congratulations... it will be really cool the first few times you go, but then you'll start noticing how their prices are actually higher than the local shops (makes the BPS brand gear seem like more of a "bargain"). I just went through this myself, and now Tackle Warehouse gets the vast majority of my $$$.
  3. Stick with the Premier and save the extra $$$ for a future "upgrade".
  4. You have horrible luck... maybe just pick up a couple Ugly Sticks until you get it out of your system.
  5. Swimbaits... the hogs put their guards down with that wind.
  6. +1 "Uncle Homer" from Bassmasters Magazine even mentioned that before. However, with that being said... I personally can't stand when pros, politicians, etc follow their own rules but tell you what you should do. "Do as I say, not as I do" just annoys the heck out of me.
  7. 3-5 depending on whether it's just a finesse day or if I can throw some heavier tackle with the baitcasters.
  8. No Cal = The Delta or Clear Lake. Can't recommend anyone ever go to So Cal. ;D
  9. Buy a Revo and they're free.
  10. I was disappointed in the Spirex and have since then delegated it to a "loner" set up for when I bring someone out that doesn't have any gear. The lack of antireverse bugs the heck out of me, but I will admit that it is a smooth reel. Some guys love the Spirex, but I'm not one of them.
  11. Have to agree with you regarding clear... could just be a confidence thing but I didn't do as well with green and the bite picked back up when I went back to a rod with clear on it (ended up stripping green off of my spinning gear). I'm probably just overthinking it though... if the pros are using many different lines in clear water they probably know what in the heck they are doing.
  12. I have 2 Excels and really like them... nice quality rod with good sensitivity. I haven't notice them being "heavy" compared to others at the same price point.
  13. I've really enjoyed my Mojos... to each their own I suppose.
  14. CXX is awesome but you may be better off with braid for frogs.
  15. +1... definitely my favorite "budget" line.
  16. I picked up that same rod a couple weeks ago and absolutely love it so far... to each their own I suppose.
  17. I also picked up the spinning version from TW a few weeks ago and have really enjoyed it. Awesome deal!
  18. 30" long with a 28" girth. He released her back where he caught her after the weigh-in... I might have to go out there to try to break that new record!
  19. Still getting a lot of use out of my Cardiff.
  20. I fish a lot of clear water lakes with spinning gear and actually prefer the copolymer lines (P-Line) over my Invizx set up.
  21. Would be cool for a wife/girlfriend. Hopefully they catch more fish than the 2 keepers that he landed at Clear Lake thiis week (finished last in tourney... 93rd). I'm sure he'll start tearing it up when they get back to the south.
  22. Lamiglas Excels... made in the USA and lifetime warranty, not to mention less expensive than the others and every bit as good.
