  1. Directions??? Heck, half of us would have tried to put that thing together without them and ended up with it stripped on both sides.
  2. Unless you're chasing Skeet's autograph, there a bunch of better options at that price point.
  3. That is one fast, hungry, crazy bass. Nice story with a pic for proof.
  4. Congrats on the PB... best of luck beating your record next time out.
  5. My PB smallie came on a Strike King 6XD... thought for sure it was going to be a LM. Definitely one of my favorite baits to use. Good luck with the elbow... ice is your friend (before and after fishing).
  6. Sam's on the money and HM's technique should work... just get quite a bit further away before you cast, especially if the water is pretty clear. If you see her, she sees you.
  7. Melones... some guys do hook some monsters in there (18# LM and 8# spot came out of there this year along with a number of DD LM), but I think they need a slot limit to start harvesting some of those spots (not to mention all the little red eyes).
  8. That should work just fine. Also easy to switch right from a drop shot rig to a split shot rig that way.
  9. There are some big 7+ pound spots in the water I usually fish, but you'll catch 49 spots in the 10-12" class for every one over 3 lbs. I'll admit that they fight hard for their size, but they seem to stay cookie-cutter size for years on end. When the average spot is 10-12" for 6 years running now, it gets a bit annoying. Also don't catch near the number of LM's before the spots started taking over.
  10. I didn't see holding either... that was a strangling!
  11. Harsh... after yesterday's game maybe I should say that Cal Poly will take care of JMU. After what game? The one where JMU beat 13th ranked VT? Who the feck does Montana play? When they beat JMU two years ago there were 4 teams from the CAA that would have beaten them 9 out of 10 times. Uh, Montana lost to Cal Poly. You get pretty excited over JMU, so this could be fun if Montana makes their usual run to the playoffs and they happen to play each other. I'm not quite sure what formula you used to determine that 4 other teams from the CAA would have beaten them 9 out of 10 times, but that's evidently one heck of a conference. Best of luck on an undefeated run to the championship.
  12. What a beautiful game. Hey Rat, watch your mouth... the Skins are going to win the NFC East. ;D ;D ;D
  13. Harsh... after yesterday's game maybe I should say that Cal Poly will take care of JMU.
  14. That's pretty crazy to say that BSU does not even deserve to be in the chase for a national title. They can't opt out of being in the WAC and just force their way into the SEC or the Big 10. They obviously have an advantage going into January since they get to play some easy games that result in less injuries or wear and tear, but to say that a team that can potentially beat any other team in the country on a given Saturday doesn't deserve a chance because of the league they play in is ridiculous. Kirk Herbstreit even says that BSU can compete with anyone, but then again he must not realize how soft their schedule is. We should remind him that they're not worthy. If there are 2 undefeated teams from the Big 10, Big 12, SEC, and Pac-10 it won't matter anyway.
  15. V-Tech will still win the weak ACC and be in the BCS. BSU already used V-Tech to get solidified in the rankings, so they're probably happy for JMU. That being said, Montana will run JMU over in the playoffs. ;D Go Griz!
  16. Congratulations! To stay on the right side of the 50% success rate, remember these words. I'm sorry honey, you're right.
  17. Awesome memorial on the rig... too bad Wal-Mart trucks delivering to just about every city in America don't have something similar to remind us more often. I recall hearing that a small plane hit the first tower just before I left for my long commute and then hearing it announced on the radio that a second plane had hit the other tower as I was pulling out of the driveway. Strangest commute of my life. Usually the way into the Bay Area is like playing frogger to make it in safely... people drive like idiots. On 9/11 everyone looked like a zombie and there was literally no weaving in and out of traffic the whole way in. Never seen a multilane freeway full of courteous drivers before. Did BClary seriously say 1st grade??? Yikes, now I'm really feeling old.
  18. Seriously??? I have a couple post-graduate degrees with a heavy science background and would have to say that's a pretty silly statement. Water or single cell organisms are one thing, but intelligent beings having to be out there because of "logic and reason" is something else entirely. A few too many X-Flies and Star Trek episodes will put your imagination in overdrive.
  19. Nothing beats a Shakespear.
  20. Crossing my fingers for OSU and Bama to go down so Boise will be ranked #1. Be great to see if it was going to be the SEC, Big 12, or Big 10 winner to potentially get knocked out of the BCS championship down the road. It may be the start of the snowball for a playoff.
  21. +1... he's in good hands. Go to the tourney and dedicate your victory to him.
  22. It's always good to be prepared for when opportunity strikes.
  23. Poppers or buzzbaits early/late.
  24. Have to say these are the wisest picks at this point. I'm a big Skins fan, but I'm thinking more than 9 wins is pretty unlikely. Just to be different, I'm predicting a Vikings v Chargers.
  25. There's definitely some truth to all of this. The only bass fishing I did up until a few years ago was with an Ugly Stick and spinnerbaits in June in the middle of the day when it was too hot to trout fish... then it was back to trout fishing when it cooled off. Now, with a lot of more expensive gear, I hardly catch any fish with spinnerbaits. Heck, maybe I should quit looking at St Croix and G. Loomis rods in favor of an Ugly Stik from Wal Mart to get back my spinnerbait mojo.
