  1. Ravens Jets Patriots Steelers and Colts just outside of top 3 bubble. Crazy season where anything can happen (Bills almost beat the Ravens in Baltimore, Browns roll the Saints in N.O., etc). NFC is looking very weak, which means they'll probably win the Superbowl.
  2. Giants... what's the matter with all you guys? I agree that it will be refreshing to see a new champion. The best pitching staff against a great hitting team and the most clutch of clutch pitchers should make for an interesting series. Giants in 7 with Cliff Lee's arm about ready to fall off from pitching so many innings in one week.
  3. It's crazy watching Brock when he gets hit... he has a good chin, but he turns away and turtles up well before he's "stunned" or hurt as though it's his best defense. He just doesn't like to get hit (say like Chris Leben who comes back stronger after getting hit as opposed to running away). I enjoy seeing him in the cage every time he's on a card, but he just can't hang with strikers that have any takedown defense. Maybe they'll give him someone like Congo next time. As impressive as Cain was tonight, I don't see him holding the belt through 2011... Dos Santos has much crisper striking and a ton of power and Carwin's striking power and wrestling are every bit as good as Cain's if not better (just needs better cardio). The HW division is likely going to be like the LHW has been the past couple years... a new champ every 1-2 fights. That was a really good card tonight. Diego looked like a beast again. The Shields fight was a bit boring (unless you really appreciate world class grappling with very little striking)... but he should look better and better now that he has gotten over the UFC jitters and realizes he has to change whatever he was doing to cut weight... completely out of gas in the 3rd.
  4. I would love to see a slot limit on the waters I usually fish. You can catch 10-12" bass all spring/summer long year after year, after year, after year, after year...
  5. +1... especially spoons.
  6. Sam... that's pretty funny right there. Always good to remember the good times when people pass away. I hadn't heard about Tom Bosley... Mr. "C" was awesome. Those were the good old days of tv. I can't believe the garbage that's on during "primetime" now.
  7. I was referring to this... I mentally merged it with the original post but it was a few replies down the page.
  8. Cute pup... mine always wants to "taste" the fish when I swing them on board. Years of memories ahead for you guys.
  9. Definitely... start throwing them now and see what happens. Fish that regularly feed on planter trout start moving into the areas where the stockers go in anticipation of the plants. They basically learn that the change to fall winter = trout plants. As bweave mentioned, bass in lakes without trout will still hit trout swimbaits. This happens at Clear Lake all the time (no trout, but they hammer trout baits).
  10. If it's your pinky and ring finger then it very well may be the ulnar nerve. Your buddy had a SMUNT (Submuscular ulnar nerve transposition), and the outcomes unfortunately vary greatly with that procedure. That being said, you are far from surgery if your symptoms are intermittent. Whatever you do, do not put any direct pressure over the inside of your elbow (nerve is most superficial there and susceptible to chronic irritation)... so make sure you rest the meat of your forearm on the console while driving or any other time you would otherwise be resting on your elbows. Hopefully this isn't the case, but if the cuff repair you had was on the same side as your hand symptoms, your neck could be the culprit (C5 refers to the shoulder and can decrease your cuff strength to the point of leading to partial/complete tears). Your ortho doc should be able to do a pretty quick differential diagnosis to figure out what's going on with you. Good luck!
  11. Ding, ding, ding... you are the winner for getting the diagnosis right. 8-)
  12. Ace... that's coming from your neck. A given joint traditionally refers up or down one level, if it is an entire extremity it is almost always coming from the spine (arms = neck, legs = low back).
  13. The original question is about a back seater in a tournament potentially sneaking GPS coordinates on a hot spot that the boater took him to. That's just dirty. It would be completely different if you were just taking a buddy or someone else out fishing for fun. Flyboy that is a heck of a story... hopefully he'll listen to your end of the story and you guys will be able to laugh at it now.
  14. Being a back seater does not entitle someone to be a parasite on the host. As Francho said, it's a great way to develop a bad reputation to the point of no one wanting to fish with you. Just ask but be ready to hear a "no" more often than not.
  15. He's a good guy but I'd be lying if I said I missed him back there this year. Vick would be great for the Raiders, but you're much more likely to have Boller back there this weekend.
  16. Spend an extra few bucks and get the Citica... you're worth it. 8-)
  17. There certainly hasn't been any fishing pressure... you'd probably kill 'em.
  18. I always nose hook but am getting closer and closer to going wacky. Most of my wacky rigging to date has been on a wacky jig or a bare senko... so it's about time to mix it up.
  19. +1... that's not going to fall out again.
  20. It's sort of like copying the guy's paper sitting next to you in class. Sure you could do it, but you'd actually learn a lot more if you put the time in yourself and kept with your old method of mapping it out. Like it's already been said, it's a different story if it's your regular tournament partner. Just using your phone or being sneaky warrants being backseated followed by a swim back to the ramp.
  21. Cast somewhere else. If all you get are dinks, then you're probably casting where the dinks reside. If you're generally casting to the shoreline, then cast 20-30' off depending on the drop offs. Another option is to put your boat up against the shoreline and cast out toward the main lake and fish "up hill" to potentially show it to the bigger fish first.
  22. Wow, you almost got bobbit'd! Just reading your story made me cringe.
  23. I don't have a Revo to compare it to, but my Curado is awesome... pleasantly surprised how far I can cast with that thing and it is very smooth. Not sure if the STX is worth the additional $34 you mentioned in the deals you found. Just about everyone seems to like their Curados and STX's, so you'll be happy either way with these two being your finalists.
  24. You can't beat the quality and performance at that price point. I have 3 of them (734c, 705 glass, and 704s) and have been very pleased with each of them. Lifetime warranty and made in the USA for $80. Can't beat it!
  25. Dude... it's over, you're done. Rewind back to January and I was in your shoes. The nicest rod I had was a Shimano Clarus, and now that poor rod isn't even in my rotation of 6-7 rods I bring out each time. It's an addiction that you'll be struggling with from this point forward. Not to discourage you, but it's just a matter of time before you start doing the same thing with your reels. ;D ;D ;D
