  1. Jack, I've seen a lot of brush on the Humminbird 997c SI in great detail but have not found any which produce on a regular basis, if at all. Any general area which you find brush piles worth hitting in the winter months? Gotta love this cold weather. Shut down all but the hungriest fish up in april sound area. Those few days 2 weeks ago saw 5-10 fish catches within 2 hours. Only one fish since. :-/ Best to you - Randy
  2. I catch fish on warmer days off the lighthouse and lower (southern dam) As the water warms into spring I find more and more on Diamondhead point rip-rap and the two smaller ones within davis creek.
  3. I'd enjoy exchanging ideas on where, what and when to fish on Lake Conroe. I live off April Sound and boat all over the lake all year to Bass fish. Largest fish since moving here 2 years ago was 10lb 2oz. I've caught 20 fish over 5lbs. so it is a good larger Bass lake. The rip-rap tends to be good after a couple of sunny days this time of year. I really haven't done any extensive chart work but did find several brush piles that produce decent catches in the winter. I have three hot spots which always produce in the summer to fall. Anyone interested in making this a thread for sharing spots lets get going!
  4. 50 degree watrer temp I would pitch an 1/8 oz football jig and drag it off the initial bluff and let it fall naturally bumping off the bluff. I'd start with a naked football jig first and then add increasing size pork or combo's to a rage craw to increase the rate of fall until i hit gold. I'd also throw a tube lure (again with light weight) and advance up in weight. The slow spiral action of a tube is one of my favs on bluffs.
