  1. Saw a picture of Lance doing a victory lap in the yellow jersey while holding a large American flag. At the time he knew he was doping and that gave him the win. But it's a disgrace to see a cheater and a liar carrying the American flag celebrating a false victory, when I see the American flag I want to remember images like the Marines raising it on Mount Suribachi. I don't want to see Lance near it. Strong feelings, I know, but if you're going to wear or carry our flag you have an obligation to do it honorably.
  2. Ryan Leaf, drafted second after Peyton Manning, and at the time it was considered to be close to a toss-up as to which one was the better QB.
  3. I was living in Seattle during the days of "The Boz". To say he did not live up to expectations is putting it mildly.
  4. I did not watch the Oprah interview. Why watch or listen to a guy that's made a career out of lying?
  5. The whole thing is just weird. My prediction is he'll be a bust in the NFL.
  6. Well I'd say he was better than "slightly above average", he did get more than 3,000 hits, which is a mark that will usually get a player into the HOF, he won 4 Gold Gloves, led the league in scoring twice, and won multiple Silver Slugger awards. I did a little research to compare his stats to another HOF 2nd baseman, looked at Joe Morgan's stats, Biggio has more hits, scored more runs, hit more home runs, had a higher career BA. Now Biggio did play other positions than 2B, but I'd argue that enhances his value even further when compared to Morgan.
  7. The Pats are going to smoke the Baltimore Cravens like a cheap cigar. Then if the Forty-Whiners luck out and get into the SB, they'll get smoked too. Belichick is a master at getting into the mind of a young QB like Kapernicus, Kapernicus will be throwing INT's like Van Dam tossing cranks in a tournament, except it will be Pats DB's making the grabs rather than LM bass.
  8. No probs with my Gen 3 STX that I've had and fished quite a bit since September. Set mine about the same as TNBassin, 2 pins on but with some mag assistance, depending on wind.
  9. Thanks, I've fished the D-bomb some, very durable.
  10. Dang, if you have a jumping bass in your logo, BPS can come after you, sheesh!
  11. Yeah Aaron is hard to describe, kind of a dork if you ask me, but a heckuva fisherman. I don't see how he can win in this format using a drop shot, he did make the cut but once it's in the sudden death round I don't see how he has much of a chance. Does anyone know if they stay on Chataqua for the whole thing, or do they move to another lake at some point? And what the heck was Ish using for a bait below that giant tungsten sinker he was using? I couldn't really get a good look at it, looked like a punching skirt with some kind of plastic bait.
  12. Fish the little 2.8" size on a 1/4 oz jighead.
  13. I started using Dry Creek double dipped tubes this fall, I've had some good days using them. I really like the "Bama Craw" color, green pumpkin overall with some subtle orange coloring on the tentacles. I realize there's lots of good tube makers out there, but I'm really impressed with the Dry Creek tubes, durable with great color schemes.
  14. I have thrown the Bomb a few times behind a Biffle head. Caught a few fish and I agree it does seem to be more durable than other similar baits. It hasn't been my experience that it catches any more fish than other baits, but I haven't thrown it enough at this point to say. They do have some colors that you can't find on other baits.
  15. Yes I label lure containers and I label my reels (on a small sticker) so I can remember what size and type of line I have spooled.
  16. I was over in the Gorve OK area today and stopped by the city of Grove launch that will be used as the launch for the Classic. They are building a BIG lot, talked to one of the workers who saw the prints and he claimed it had parking for 800-900 rigs. Here's some pics: New launch lanes - 4 of them: Old ramp with dock New lot looking roughly towards the east (from the back of the lot): From the back towards the lake: And finally, looking towards the west at the lot:
  17. So are you calling Ike a clown? lol, but that clown sold a lot of burgers..
  18. Yep smart marketing, pros that do something to stand out from the crowd get noticed and get sponsors knocking at the door. He is obnoxious at times IMO, but as you point out, he's well known to us bassers.
  19. More of a post-spawn thing on TR, the fish move off the beds out onto the main lake rocky flats.
  20. There's so many crankbait model rods out there these days, but I like the Dobyns Champion series and the Phenix X-series. I'd get that Dobyns RM 764 or else a 704 for throwing the squarebills the OP was asking about. I'd also look at the Phenix X-10 or X-11. I don't have any Loomis, but I'd look to see if they have a technique specific CB rod for squarebills. Lots of good sticks out there to choose from, which is a good thing IMO. I'd also wait for a sale or check the various for sale forums on this board and others, you'll see lots of CB rods for sale at good prices.
  21. I must respectfully disagree, when early summer rolls around on Table Rock, you can drag football jigs over rocky flats and points and expect to catch 20-30 bass a day. And when the bite is right you can nail them around docks and cover. And another vote for the Rage Chunks as a trailer, I also like Paca Chunks, especially the large sized chunks.
  22. I've seen those Excaliburs, but never tired one. I've got so many jerklbaits as it is, it's hard to justify picking up another brand, but if it catches big fish...
  23. I've got a TFO FWC 665-1 (6'5" medium heavy). I've had it a couple of years, but haven't used it in a while. Used it primarily pitching jigs around docks, and it worked reasonably well for a $100 rod. It's a bit heavy, not super sensitive, but I caught fish with it. IMO it's a good rod if you're looking in the $100 range.
  24. I've owned a Gen 3 STX since this fall, fished it a lot, and I'm impressed with it given it's price point. Good value in my opinion. I think it compares favorably to any other brand in that price range.
  25. Yep I also like the RC STX baits. I replace the trebs with Daichi Deathtraps. Spro McSticks fish well out of the package, a little more pricey, but if you wait for the online sales you can get them at reasonable prices. I haven't tried the Strike King KVD bait yet, but it is also reasonably priced.
