  1. Fair enough..
  2. I have a couple of Sols mounted on Dobyns DX702's. I primarily use them for light t-rigs, c-rigs and Senkos. I would not throw a #5 Shad Rap on those rods. 701 might work, but hard to say without trying. I make things easy on myself and throw those #5 shad raps on a spinning outfit.
  3. Yeah it's hard to say, weather this time of year can be crazy in this area. Biggest challenge for the competitors could be dealing with the weather. They may get lucky of have 3 relatively nice days, but it's a crapshoot. I'm glad to see them come to Grand, but I've always wondered about the timing.
  4. Right now the water temps are in the mid forties more or less, there's a warming trend the next week, but beyond that, who knows? You can go to weather.com and type in Grove OK for a location and get a forecast there. I think the furthest they forecast is 10 days.
  5. Wow, I am impressed! I'll have to place an order. Is there a BR member discount?
  6. The Fats do catch fish, the local tackle stores would sell out as soon as they got some in last winter. They also tear up easily, I superglue them to the jighead.
  7. Saw Roland on the Jarret Ewards fishing show the other day, Jarret got him to state his age. Roland is 72! He's doing real well for a gent his age. I hope I'm going like that when I hit 72. Roland says he'll still be fishing some FLW's this year.
  8. Seen several of them at the Basspro Spring Classic. Ish Monroe, Edwin Evers and Ott Defoe. Didn't talk to them, but listened to their seminars. Mike McClelland lives in the same town I do, I've seen him a couple of times on the local lakes. Saw Roland Martin about 20 years ago, I was on a biz trip to Charlotte NC, was staying over the weekend, so ended up going on a guided striper trip to Santee-Cooper, met the guide early in the AM at a local restaraunt and Roland was in there eating. Had several people hovering around his table, so I didn't bother him.
  9. Now that guy (JaMarcus) was such a bust I had completely forgotten about him. I wonder if he has any money left.. If I was an NFL GM looking to draft Manti, I'd be looking at a lot of game tapes, I'd also bring him in for a loooooonnnngggg interview until I felt I got the truth our of him of this totally bizzare story of his. ESPN radio guys were saying that he had spent 110 hours on the phone with his imaginary GF, and had exchanged thousands of text messages and emails with "her". And there's the person or persons that pulled off this supposed hoax. Who the heck would spend that much time on this hoax? This was like a full time job, every night on the phone with him and all the texting? It just doesn't make sense...
  10. I'm a little surprised Martens did not join in on the dock dinkfest. I would think he could have done well fishing a shaky head or a Senko around the docks.
  11. I'm hooking up my boat right now...LOL.
  12. Poor Ike, looked like he might have had a cold or the flu. He also made the mistake of cutting in front of Denny Brauer. Denny is a nice guy unless you get too close to him.
  13. I plan to attend the Expo on one of the days, just not sure which one yet. But if it works with my schedule, I'd be happy to join you guys.
  14. I should have said that the lake in it's currentr condition at the time of the tourney was not set up for him. I was a little surprised he did not pull a couple off that bridge also.
  15. You aren't kidding, he was in major whine mode. That lake was just not suited for his style of fishing.
  16. So who supplies college teams with their boats?
  17. Did not get the Classic flyer, but just got the Spring bass catalog from BPS. Didn't come by regular mail however, some kid on a bike dropped it in my mailbox, didn't get a good look at that kid because he as moving pretty fast, but he sure did resemble a monkey. Must be my imagination...
  18. I think a great tournament/show would be to get together all the old guys, Dance, Martin, Clunn, Houston, etc., and have them fish a "Senior" tournament. Like what the old pro golfers do.
  19. And yeah MCS, Brady did not have a good game at all.
  20. Yes I really will pick those 2 plays and call them game changers.
  21. Sorry, I disagree, Welker catches that pass, Patriots have in first and 10 at about the Raven 30, they probably get a least an FG, if not a TD, at that point they were leading 13-7. It was a game changing drop. Hernandez goes out of bounds instead of staying in, they would have had a couple of shots at the end zone at the end of the first half. Again a potential game changer. It was in the hands of a couple of Pats players and they blew it.
  22. Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I'm recording it and watching it later, If they're fishing docks again next episode I'll probably be doing a lot of fast forwarding. I'm hoping in the future they fish lakes where guys are using a lot of different techniques. Like they did last year.
  23. I pretty PO'd at the Patsies right now. Thanks Wes for dropping a pass that was right in your chest, didn't you do that last year in the Super Bowl also? Bill Buckner has now been replaced by Wes Welker as the Boston choker. At least Buckner only choked once. Thanks Aaron Hernandez for staying in bounds as time was running out in the 1st half, coulda just stepped out of bounds and stopped the clock, but for some inexplicable reason you turned into the middle and got tackled inbounds. The Patsies played like boneheads, the Ravens played smart. Congrats to the Ravens for being the smarter team.
  24. I wonder how Lance avoided getting the PED enhanced huge noggin like Barry Bonds? Must have had better advice on what to take. Lance taking PED's, does not bother me so much in that it was in a sport where apparently they all did it, at least the top riders. What is wrong, very wrong, is that Lance vigorously denied taking PED's, and sued (and won) friends, and team mates. Some of these people were just average folks and Lance destroyed their lives and took everything they had. I'm hoping some prosecutor somewhere takes Lance to court on criminal fraud charges, and I hope he gets 20 years in the pen. Maybe he'll share a cell with Bernie Madoff, another lying piece of garbage that took people's life savings. What Lance did is way beyond just taking PED's.
  25. looks like a movie is going to be made about Lance's life. Makes me think this whole Oprah "confession" thing is just Lance generating some publicity for himself. He's got plans, I'm sure of that, this whole confession thing is just a tactic to get him back on the road to riches. Not that it's necessarily wrong to do this, a man's gotta make a living, but he should be seen for what he is.
