  1. Yep, FC is the way to go, with a sensitive rod you can usually feel the fish pickup a jig falling on slack line and with a long rod you can pick up that slack quickly and get a hook set.
  2. Remember that Seinfeld episode where "Poppy" came out of the stall, paused to comb his hair, then went on to bury his hands in the pizza dough?
  3. Zoom finesse worms. Zoom, baby, ZOOM!
  4. Yep, I fish a drop shot on Table Rock and my go to worm is a Zoom Finesse in Old Purple.
  5. If the price is $199 for the R, it will be on my radar screen.
  6. T-rigged Zoom Ol Monster. Jig. Drop shot with Zoom Finesse worm or Roboworm. Spoon
  7. Never heard of Lake Chickamauga until this latest FLW tourney, Casey Martin boated a 30 lb. limit on the last day to give him over 100 lbs. for the tourney. Pretty impressive bag for a mid-south lake.
  8. Revo Winch, retails for $199. You can throw deep diving cranks on it all day. Great for A-rigs also. There's also the Revo Toro Winch 50 which has been discontinued, but you can find them NIB on the auction site, and you'll see them pop up on sale on the fishing forums.
  9. Picked one up on sale a few years ago, great reel and the exterior paint is very durable. I mainly use mine for c-rigging, I move the bait with the rod and pick up the slack with the reel, the Zillion does a good job of quickly picking up the slack.
  10. I'd say that it is a good creature bait to have in the arsenal, and it has a different look that other creatures. I would not say that it is a "magic" bait, angler skill and presentation are still important factors.
  11. TW has them in stock, I've been using them for a couple of years now. Good bait with a different look to it than the others out there.
  12. Wow, the guy is having a great year, I think this is his 2nd FLW win and he has an Elite win also. The next KVD?
  13. Definitely will be on my buy list when they come out. I would like to see Green Pumpkin/purple flake with a dark purple center. Watermelon/red flake with a reddish center, not a bright red, bur more of a subtle shade of red.
  14. Sometimes they can't advertise a discount because of the agreement they have with a manufacturer, but you can call and get the discount.
  15. For a guide, contact Bill Babler. Last August I did well using a drop shot, I mainly fish the White River channel near the Big M marina, which is a bit of a drive from Branson, but the DS will work lake wide, the hard part is locating the fish. It sure helps to have a decent fish finder. In general you want to look at the deep end of long points, 20-35 foot depths. Good DS baits are Zoom finesse worms, and Roboworms. Old Purple for Zoom, Morning Dawn for Roboworms are great colors. Go early in the AM for the best bite and there's not very many pleasure craft out early. Be careful out there in your kayak, especially later in the day as there are lots of pleasure craft zooming around that time of year.
  16. The girth on that thing is ridiculous!
  17. Another method I've seen, it to use a duo-lock snap instead of a split ring.
  18. Yep you need smaller split rings - I've used Owner #2 hyper split rings and have put 1/0 Gammy EWG's on them.
  19. You're close to them geographically which is a good thing. Takes 5 days for me for stuff to get here from Tee-Dubya. But it's free if over $50 so I'm not complaining.
  20. Can't go wrong with the Mouse or Spot Remover colors.
  21. You guys that support that Cowboys pick are putting lipstick on a pig. They spent a first round pick on a guy, who at best is a 2nd rounder, for crying out loud the guy is a center, it's a wasted pick. It would not surprise me to see them pick Manti Teo (if he's still available) in the 2nd round. The torch has been passed from Al Davis to Jerry Jones. Thank goodness I am not a Cowboys fan.
  22. Zoom Fish Doctors are what a lot of folks in this neck of the woods fish on their split shot rigs.
  23. I haven't stayed here, but sure looks nice. The Babler's have an excellent reputation. http://www.whiteriverlodgebb.com/index.html
  24. Yeah it's supposed to rain Friday, but I'm going to get out tomorrow. Sunny, warm afternoon is in the forecast, it should get the bass active. I think it will be a good day.
