  1. Just placed an order, I like the ability to customize spinner baits, I like Colorado blades and there's not a lot of options for Colorado blades in off the shelf spiiner baits. So Mr. Northstar a couple of questions for you. Have you thought about offering painted blades as an option for spinnerbait blades? Especially white and chartreuse. How about a "Biffle" type jighead, basically a football jig head with a free swinging hook. I'd like to see someone offer them but with quality hooks such as Gamakatsu EWG. And the off the shelf ones seem to have a not so durable paint on the jig head. Or you could sell the jig heads and let the customer get their own hooks as long as there was a way to attach them.
  2. We have a local fishing show called "Fishing Hawg Country". They did a show where they were pithcing docks using War Eagle jigs, they were primarily using them in the "Pond Scum" color. They caught quite a few fish on them. I'm sure you can catch fish on them, but are they better than other brands? I dunno..
  3. I hadn't really fished tubes very much, until yesterday, caught around 20 LM on one of the local lakes on Zoom and GYCB tubes, watermelon seed and black/blue. I'll look into some of the brands you guys mentioned in this thread, I think I like tubes now.
  4. I've been using 10# Invisix on spinning tackle and it's worked fine for me. Compare line diameters, Invisix is small diameter stuff compared to most other brands. I've found smaller diamter is better for spinning reels when using floro. For example 10# Invisix is .010" and 6 lb Yozuri ultrasoft is .010". So same diameters but different break points. Now this is assuming there manufactures have properly weighted their break strenghts.
  5. Bring a red sharpie.
  6. I also played a lot of ball CWB, I hit for power and had my left hand gripped right on the knob, same goes for casting, if you're a powerful caster you can have your left hand snug on that knob. Doesn't work for everybody, some people like to choke up It's all about leverage.
  7. Send it back to Strike King, they may replace it and give you some other free stuff.
  8. I'm more concerned about strength rating, seems to be variable by manufacturer.
  9. Think baseball bats, they have the knob on the end of the handle to keep your lower hand from slipping off and allows you to put more into the swing, same goes for split grip rods.
  10. They stimulated some more money out of my wallet. Time to start making a list for the Memorial Day sale.
  11. We Arkies love those Megabass! I've caught fish on them when my other brand of jerkbaits weren't working. The FLW boys did well using them on Beaver Lake in the March tourney.
  12. I have a TFO 665, I use it for pitching jigs, so far no issues with it, I catch bass with it. IMO it's good value for a $100 rod. Or you can look at it as an $85 rod if you wait until the next 15% off sale.
  13. I have a 703 that I use for light t-rigs and light c-rigs, I have no problem detecting bites from bottom structure, great rods IMO.
  14. I have a Loomis IMX 783 spinning rod, great rod, but one annoying thing is that where the spinning reel attaches to the rod, it doesn't have enough length to seat my Daiwa spinning reels, whatever that piece is called on the Daiwas is too long to fit on the Loomis. so I have to use a JM spinning reel on it. Just something to keep in mind. I have picked up a couple of Dobyns Extremes (Baitcasters), after using them, I won't be going back to Loomis.
  15. Zoom U-Tale has been killer lately.
  16. Dang $90 for a Crucial, heck of a deal, if they have any extras lying around at that price, please send me a PM.
  17. I like the Kietech swing impact as a trailer, the tail has good action on a slow retrieve. But make sure you superglue them to the jig as they will pull off easily if you don't. Double Diamond is another good one. I like the craw trailers when the fish are aggressive and I want to use a faster retrieve.
  18. Yet another vote for the Zoom Old Monster, they even work during the day.
  19. I was looking online at the new Cabelas Prodigy which I believe is an Exceler TSH with some upgrades. Wish I had a store nearby so I could do a stare and compare, but it is $99 which may be out of your price range.

Wow, Butler could be in the finals again this year, who woulda thunk it? VCU making it to the finals would be even more mind blowing.
  21. Spro McSticks and McRips work well and you can get them for 11.50 - 12.50 at the web tackle shops, best thing to do is put them on your list for when they have those 10-15% sales and you can get them for less than $10. Academy has some really inexpensive ones - $3.99, but you may have to do some tweaking such as adding suspend dots to get them to suspend correctly. A buddy of mine has done well fishing them. River2sea has come out with a $6.99 lure, Suspend minnow is the name I believe, it's a deeper diver, 5-7 feet. I used one for the first time Friday in the baby bass color and picked up a few fish on it, had good action and suspended well, not bad for $6.99.
  22. HAHA, that is so true!
  23. Lately, for whatever reason, they seem to be working better than the other jerkbaits in this neck of the woods.

    Another vote for Zoom U-Tale.
  25. I have fished with IMA Flits, good baits, they catch bass.
