  1. I should expand my comment a little, when I'm night fishing, which I do a lot this time of year, especially with this heat wave, I'm usually dragging bottom contact stuff like t-rigs and jigs. It's strictly fishing by feel, can't see the line or the rod tip. And I'm fine with that. I use floro, I can feel the bites when dragging through brush piles or over rocks. And when the bait falls on a slack line, I can feel the bite when it happens.
  2. Can't see my line while night fishing.
  3. Excerpt from a Bloomberg aricle I just read: The good news is that this speeding vehicle does have brakes — if Washington would only use them. Eliminating deductions would broaden the base of income that’s subject to taxation and increase revenue. On the spending side, it’s crucial to change the incentives that lead to overconsumption and inefficiency in health care. At the same time, cuts in benefit formulas for Medicare and Social Security are painful but necessary. And they should apply at least in part to current beneficiaries. Given how hard-pressed young workers are, it’s unfair to put all the adjustment on them while completely insulating today’s elderly. Sure, it’s hard to imagine a real deal now, as Washington boils over with anger and partisan differences harden. But from this bitter experience may come a realization that the only way out is cooperation and compromise in the public interest. Meanwhile, that rooster we put on our cover in April? He’s having a heart attack. Let’s not do this again soon
  4. Yes thanks for the review. I understand what Hooligan is saying about feeling a slack line bite using floro. Many times when I t-rig plastics I have slack line after giving it a hop or after dragging, I can feel fish pick it up when doing this. Works for jigs that are falling on slack line also. Does it work like that with braid? I don't know as I don't use braid in that application.
  5. Jigfishin, you hit the nail on the head, kids not even near being old enough to vote are getting stuck with the debt we ran up. We're screwing future generations, it's a shame.
  6. We can't even get a bill out of the GOP controlled House, if that bill had passed the house it will still need to pass the Senate and then get signed off by Obama. Washington has become even more dysfunctional than ever. The folks in Washington are basing their actions on what will benefit them in the next election rather than what is right for the country. We need to throw the bums out!
  7. A beautiful gal holding a big bass, gotta love it!
  8. I disagree, I would say buying a custom rod is analogous to buying a custom made suit from a tailor. You can get a great suit off the rack, or you can get one made specifically to fit you made out of the material you want from a tailor. The off the rack suit may have been designed by 100 Italian fashion experts, but did they design it for you specifically, or for the mass market? And would you rather have something built by a commitee or by an expert? Of course this is assuming that the rod builder or tailor is experienced and is good at what they do.
  9. Another vote for the Keitech swing impact. Superglue them to the jig if you use one.
  10. At the NRX price point you could get a great custom rod built. Something to consider..
  11. Nothing but 100's and 90's in the forecast for the next 10 days. Come on October!
  12. If you want to watch pros having a tough time, watch Ultimate Match Fishing.
  13. Must be popular, they're out of stock on most colors.
  14. Link appears to be broke.
  15. Anytone try the Strike King 3X with elaztech? Supposedly very durable. I haven't tried them, just curious if anyone has and what you thought.
  16. It's a record breaking summer down here in Arkansas, we always have hot summers but this is ridiculous. I've been going out at dawn (sometimes before dawn) and can usually manage to pick up a few bass on 10" worms t-rigged. Wacky senko will also occasionally get bit on the shadow side of docks in deep water. I'm usually off the water by 0900 as it just starts getting too darn hot.
  17. Could be that person is only 2 feet tall, LOL. If that picture is for real, it is one heck of a bass.
  18. The Megabug has given me some nice bass this year. I just picked up some Megasticks, I am hoping they fish as well as a certain well known product of the same type. I would like to see the Megastick in 6", and more color options, especially smoke/black flake. Dark smoke BTW, similar to the color a certain well known brand makes.
  19. Out of the corner of my eye, I could've sworn I saw a monkey run by. I hope not, whenever I see that SOB around, my wallet gets lighter.
  20. If they're selling for $500, my guess is that they've become a "collectible". I have one, they're a nice reel, but I wouldn't pay over $200 for one. But if they've become a collectors item, forget about reasonable pricing.
  21. I hope your Father in law gets healthier, and I hope you're able to quit D4. I took me several tries to quit, it was never easy, but I haven't smoked in years and I am very thankful. Something else about longtime smokers is they stink. Their breath is bad, their clothes smell, and if they smoke in their house, their house stinks, sorry if that offends anyone, but that's the way it is.
  22. Speaking of lights, there's a lot of private docks on the lakes around here, there's always a few that have bright lights near the water. Definite bass attractors that are worth fishing.
  23. Yep, exactly how I feel. Curado is a great reel at $100, no way I'd pay $199 for one.
  24. My Premiers haven't screeched at me, I don't fish cranks often, so maybe that has something to do with it. My fishing buddy has Premiers also and no complaints from him about screeching.
