  1. They've got the Enigma reels on sale in store only on March 10 for $50. I don't know how good that reel is, but if the store was closer,( I'm not going to drive 2 hours one-way for that reel), I'd pick one up to check it out. Pretty good prices on a wide range of crankbaits also.
  2. It's great that some states have sportsmen rights protection processes, but this proposed ban was on a federal level. If it ever gets passed into law, it will be a nationwide ban. States would be forced to comply.
  3. The RC's are a great value, and they work surprisingly well.
  4. Keitech Swing Impact fats. They can't keep them on the shelves down here. They come in various sizes and colors so you can match the hatch. Great tail thump on a slow retrieve. Superglue them to the jigheads.
  5. 60 foot yachts chugging along at 12 knots kicking out a 3 foot wake as they pass by 10 yards away to where you are fishing. Jet skies. Or a 60 yacht chugging along at 12 knots kicking out a 3 foot wake passing by 10 yards away from where I'm fishing, that has a pack of jet skiers zig-zagging behind it jumping the wakes. People fishing off the dock at the boat ramp that get an attitude when you tie up to the dock to go get your truck and trailer. People diving/swimming off the dock at the boat ramp that get an attitude when you tie up to the dock to go get your truck and trailer. Geese, ducks, gulls or any other feathered vermin that approach my boat looking for a handout. Pulling in 100 yard of mono that some slob was too lazy to put in the trash and instead tossed it into the lake. People who back halfway down a single lane boat ramp, lift the cowling off their outboard, and start working on it, starting this about 5 seconds before you tie up to the dock, sounds unbelievable, but I've had it happen to me twice over the years.
  6. Cotton Cordell CJ-9 in Smokey Joe. Old standby, very popular around here in the spring. Recommend upgrading the hooks, I like to put a feathered treble on the tail. Stripers love them too.
  7. Very tempting, I wish they would drop the price a little.
  8. BTW, you can sign up for Oklahoma upland bird research updates by going to wildlifedepartment.com, look for the Upland research image in the bottom right corner. Just signed up myself, so I don't know if of any value or not.
  9. Thanks Bird dog, I may shoot you a PM next year if I decide to go to OK.
  10. Here he is pointing, held well, gave me time to get out the camera, get a pic, then walk over and flush the bird.
  11. How did you find hunting the Western OK public lands in the years when you went? I live in Arkansas and am considering western OK next year. Looks like the WMA's out there have quail, but I believe they do get quite a bit of pressure. I will probalby hunt KS and Nebraska next year also, I'm hoping the weather is more bird friendly in KS this year and there's a good hatch. Lot's of walk in areas to hunt. I have an 8 month old GSP, the dog has good instincts, doing a good job pointing pen-raised quail, can't wait to get him out there next year.
  12. I called the store in Rogers AR, likewise none in stock. I hate sales where the seller doesn't have the item they list as being on sale in the stores.
  13. Read an interview where one of the FLW honchos said that they had no intention of banning the A-rig in FLW tourneys.
  14. Texas Tackle, you can't beat them for the small split rings that are on crankbaits.
  15. Get a Biffle Bug type jighead, put one on it, and drag it along the bottom, works well on rocky structure. OrTexas rig one and drag it one the bottom. Or get some football head jigheads and drag.
  16. Anyone tried the Bomber suspending crankbaits? Just ordered a few myself, they have medium and deep diving models. Seems it should work well during the winter for deeper fish, fished like a suspending jerkbait once it gets down to it's cruising depth.
  17. Looks like TW is now carrying them. (Editor won't allow me to post link). Wait for the Black Friday sale and you can pick them up for less than $7. I'll definitely get some to fish around the heavy timber where I won't throw a Megabass. As far as tweaking the suspension, get some suspend dots and strips, also try floro for line. Colors? I like Pro Blue for Megabass, so I'd definitely order that color, Purple Golden Shiner looks good, as does Cosmic Shad.
  18. Sweet looking jigs, how long will this sale run?
  19. I spent about 12 years of my life living in SE Mass. Bass fished a lot while there, didn't have all the tackle or knowledge I have now, but did well as there's some good bassin in that area. My go to bait was a chrome/black 3 1/2" floating jointed Rebel, throw it to cover, weedlines, lilly pad edges, twitch one or twice, if no strikes, retrieve and try the next pice of cover. Workd well spring through summer. Good to have a few spinner baits for spring and fall. Black Jitterbugs for night fishing if you're so inclined. Lots of small ponds/lakes/rivers that can only be accessed with car-toppers or canoes that have good bass populations and can surprise you with bass in the 5-8 lb. range.
  20. I'm offended I read this thread
  21. They have great stuff!
  22. Not a big fan of either team, but the Cards and Tigers have met 4 times previously in the WS, so I'm hoping for another matchup between these two teams.
  23. I broke down and bought one of those Cabela's Zillions, I resisted the urge for a few days, but at 179 for a Zillion I could not stand it any longer and bought one. I hope they sell out soon so I'm not tempted again next month.
  24. I have given up hope on SB halfime shows years ago. Mute the TV, find something to do, and unmute when the pigskin is flying agin in the 2nd half. I didn't like Madonna when she was young, I'm sure she hasn't imroved with age.
