  1. Hmmm, never thought about putting a suspend dot on one, thanks for the tip. Those SR5's can be tough to toss, even on light spinning gear. I always change out the trebs to #6 Daiichi Death traps.
  2. I hope you catch the scumbag and use his face to rub out the scratch.
  3. I noticed the same thing on my Gen 3 STX that Jeb reported in his review, you really have to tighten down the cast control knob (almost to full tightness) to get the spool to slow down. I usually fish with the knob fairly loose, so I can live with it, but it is something to note if you're considering purchasing a Gen 3 STX.
  4. Don't know the weight. You could do a search on Dobyns, get their email and shoot them your questions. I've found them to be pretty responsive.
  5. Well they don't exist, Sasquatch that is, and people hearing strange, unidentifiable howls or growls in the woods decide, gee I don't know what that is? Must be a bigfoot! But if I did think it was a bigfoot, I'd go check it out, if they existed they must be harmless as there's never been a proven fatality caused by a bigfoot. Of course it's kinda hard to be killed by a non-existant creature.
  6. I fish Table Rock quite a bit and it's good, but can be a bit crowded. Out of your choices I'd fish Bull Shoals, it's fairly remote, not a lot of pressure, and this spring the Bassmaster guys that fished the Elite series tourney there were amazed by the number of bass in that lake.
  7. Never have fished Lake Fork, or hired a guide there, but if I do someday, I'd check out Tom Redington. Don't know if you saw his thread in this section, but here's the link. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/107614-lake-fork-fishing-report%e2%80%94tourney-edition/
  8. I've got a SG 744DX, I don't notice any tip heaviness with it, but I haven't compared it to a 744 full cork. I'd get whatever grip you're more comfortable using. I also have a SG 743DX, and that's what I use for lighter jigs/t-rigs in the ranges you mention, but I tend to prefer a bit lighter rod than most.
  9. Mark Rose, who just won the Wheeler lake FLW event, mentioned modifying his deep divers to run a little deeper and this helped him to win. He didn't say what his modification was.
  10. Good advice, I need to convince myself to do the same, take a day and just fish cranks. They're not one of my confidence baits, even though I have a bunch of them.
  11. Since Bigfot does not exist, the rock thrower was either a gorilla that was AWOL from the zoo, or mischievous humans. I'd bet 99.999999% is was human throwers. I guess another extremely remote possibility is a meteorite. Think of it as a multiple choice test. You're fishing at a local lake, a big rock flies out of the woods and lands in the water creating a big splash. The cause was (choose one): a) Bigfoot b Metorite c) human caused d) You had one beer too many
  12. Football jigs are alive and well here in the Ozarks. They work well when dragged across rocky, gravelly points, or rocky, gravelly flats. There was a great FB jig bite early this summer on Table Rock, 20-30 bass days were the norm. Should be another good FB jig bite later in October. I also drag 3/4 oz black/blue FB jigs at night, great big bass bait. Of course in weedy, mud bottom lakes, dragging a FB jig probably won't be a good technique.
  13. None of these special run colors is for the Ol' Monster. I had a good morning last week at a local power plant lake using Black/Blue flake Ol' Monster. Black/red is also a good color if you can't get black. Might be worth checking Evil Bay, sometimes they have colors you can't get at the retailers.
  14. Can you please forward the site to my PM on this site?
  15. What retailer is selling these 2013 special colors?
  16. I hope you're playing the Devils's advocate. Since Bigfoot does not exist, it is a waste of time trying to prove that it does, well except for the entertainment value.
  17. I like Rage chunks and I also like the Paca chunks, one brand sometimes comes in a color I like and the other doesn't, so my decision is often based on color rather than brand. I have confidence in either one.
  18. X2 on the spoon on Table Rock, and don't forget the dropshot.
  19. Just for the record, I'm not knocking the NRX's (except for the QC issues which have hopefully been solved), they are great rods and I'd be happy to have a dozen or so on my deck. But, I've got other brand rods that serve me quite nicely and get the job done.
  20. I lived in Washington state for close to 20 years, did a lot of fishing, hunting, and hiking. Never saw a sasquatch. Never expected to see one either as they don't exist.
  21. Thanks for the reminder on the hoodie, I'll be stylin this fall in my new Abu togs.
  22. Cool, thanks!
  23. Yes, on Black Friday there will be sales. Keep some moola on hand for that day.
  24. Arkansas quit, they deserved to get whupped, Saban could have put in the Tide cheerleaders and they would have whupped the losers that "play" for Arkansas.
  25. Well the Hogs for sure could use a coach that can kick their behinds and get them to play like men instead of girls. They just flat gave up against the Tide yesterday. I'm not going to spend any more of my time following these quitters this year, got better things to do. Not that I expected them to beat the Tide, but I did expect them to play hard and with pride. They need to put some of those girls on a diet also, the D line is just plain flat and slow.
