  1. I'd be thinking about a frog, like the Spro Bronzeye (or any similar frog), weedless and you can walk the dog with it. Zoom Horny toads are a great topwater bait for pads also.
  2. Zoom Finesse, GYCB Kut-tail.
  3. I was hoping for the Boise State guy, but this isn't a bad hire. But is he good enough to lead the Hawgs to a national title? I think he can make AR good, but great? We should start seeing some big ol O-linemen being recruited to come to Arkansas.
  4. Check the list, if one (or both) of your Senators is in the "Yea" column, keep that in mind next time they are up for re-election.
  5. I can't see where it's any different than having a local angler who finds a hot pattern the day before a tourney, deciding to jump in the next day. One way to eliminate this unfairness (if you want to call it that), is have a no pre-fishing rule that begins several days before the tourney starts.
  6. Glad to hear you dropped a dime on those guys.
  7. I'm all fired up for Boise St vs WA, AR State vs Kent State, Oregon vs K State, and of course AL vs ND.
  8. I've got a Gen 3 STX, used it quite a bit the last few weeks, I'm really impressed with it, considering it's price point.
  9. Heard good things abou them on some of the other bass boards. Hard to tell from the website, but they look like they have a quality paint job, and some interesting colors, one of these days I'll pick up a few.
  10. Gen 3 Revo STX, or a Gen 2 Premier. Both are much smoother than those coffe grinder Shimano Curado E's or the current Chronarch.
  11. I like Invisx so much, I buy the 3000 yard spools. You get 3000 yards at twice the price of the 1000 yard spool, so it's like getting 1000 yards for free! What a country!
  12. I'm, somewhat interested, but the meetings would have to be in the NE corner of the state for me to attend. If it's in central OK, that's too far for me to drive.
  13. Don't forget Texas, their mad scientists are working hard at using genetics to create a WRB. http://www.statesman.com/news/lifestyles/recreation/lunkers-landed-at-a-rapid-pace-this-season/nRrbf/
  14. Back in the day, on my way early in the morning to a fishing destination, I would stop at the 7-11 and pick up a Hostess fruit pie and a large coffee with cream and sugar. Man that was good stuff!
  15. I predict Notre Dame vs Alabama for the BCS (unless either team loses any more games).
  16. Watched the 2012 Texas Bass Classic last week, top 15 anglers from the FLW, top 15 from the Elite series, and 5 sposorship spots, they're on Lake Conroe, which has a one fish limit, so the solution is each boat has a marshall who weighs the fish, gets agreement from the pro, record the weight and release the fish. They use Bogas. I went through several brands of digitals before getting a Boga. Heard good things about the Chatillons also. If you want reliable, consistent weights, get a good spring scale, if you want a "ballpark" weight get a digital.
  17. So far, I'm liking my Phenix X9 composite rod as a light cranking stick, it's a graphite butt to mid section blending into a fiberglass tip. I haven't fished it much, threw some Wiggle Warts with it the other day and it did a good job of keeping the fish pinned. A bit out of your price range at $189, but the Black Friday sales prices are getting closer!
  18. There's also the Ozark Mountain Tournament Trail (OMTT). They fish the Ozark lakes, Table Rock, Stockton, etc. Some pretty good anglers in that series, so expect tough competition. Entry fees are $200 per team I believe.
  19. Megabug and Biffle Bug.
  20. I would also drop a drop shot on them.
  21. I second the use it in lawn equipment idea or give it to a neighbor that can use it. It's only 4 gallons, why keep it all winter and risk using bad gas in your outboard next spring?
  22. War Eagle makes a great SB, and I like Northstar also because you can build your own bait (choose blades, weight, color). I would like to see Northstar add paineted blades as an option (hint, hint).
  23. I'm OK with my 702's up to 1/4 oz. I don't do much shakeyheading, but you should be good for 3/16 or less. I mainly use mine for light c-rigging and t-rigging, usually with a 1/4 oz weight. You're not going to horse big fish out of heavy cover with a 702, but if you've got room to play a fish you can get them in the boat.
  24. Good baits for the A-rig also.
  25. I've got a couple of 702 DX's, great rod for finesse type applications. Extremely sensitive. I'm sure the 702 C's are great rods also. Sounds like you can get one at a great price here.
