  1. Don't know about 'best', but I've dealt with Japan Tackle several times and have always been totally satisfied with the transactions.
  2. LM 7' MHF Daiwa Jupiter - Abu STXL Gen1 SM over 50 years ago, so probably a cheap Walmart rod (possibly 6' ML Berkley Lightning) and a cheap Daiwa spinning reel Now if I could just do as good with my 7' MHF Shaman - Steez EX 100HS and Fanasista Regista 6'10" MLF - 16 EM MS 2508PE-H. Guess that just goes to prove that the only thing money can buy is more pleasure knowing you are using nice gear.
  3. OP's original post is very vague. This post of his admits the rod might be the problem, but sounds like he feels the 200K will work fine. I don't agree about the reel. Not saying it couldn't be done. I watched a young guy cast an 1/8 oz. rated lure (actual weight unknown) on a MH St. Croix with an E-series Curado. However, I've never personally witnessed another person with as powerful cast as he had. The reel was also set up not to backlash with that weight. Don't remember the distance he got.
  4. Definitely the wrong rod. I don't have that particular reel, but personally feel it's a long ways from being a good option. I wouldn't consider using my Curado 201E7 for finesse. I used a tuned TD-Z 105H and two older gold colored Carbonlites (stock) to learn how to cast #5 Shad Raps (3/16 oz.). I wasn't getting 130' with them, but feel quite sure that the 90' range was my normal distance with the setups I was using.
  5. Will have to stop at Verizon store. Searched but couldn't find any of those locations.
  6. Pictures I take automatically go in the 'Gallery'. Google search: Usually, the screenshots are saved in the Gallery application inside the Screenshots album. To open the screenshot location, choose Screenshot saved. If this screen appears, choose an option, in this case, Gallery. After reading the above I found the Screenshot album. Still doesn't help me. At first holding the power button and volume down control seemed to work. Now I get 4 options when doing that. Power Off, Restart, Emergency Call and Medical info. I'm not getting a screenshot now using this method. Swiping with the side of my palm puts the screenshot in Gallery.
  7. Trial. Crap. I can download Pictures off my S23 to the laptop, but not pictures in my Gallery. I tried taking a screenshot on my phone, but couldn't figure out how to include it in my post. This picture is from 'Pictures' not 'Gallery'.
  8. I downloaded Firefox. Logged into bassresource. Selected 'Edit'. Pressed 'Add Files'. Denied music and videos. Selected 'all' at the next option. Now pressing on 'Add Files' nothing happens. EDIT: Plugged phone into laptop.
  9. Thanks to your examples I was able to downsize the photos. Now I need to know how to post them in a thread.
  10. Spooled to bevel with 12# Kastking Monofilament (.33mm/.013). Box says 75 yards for this pound test at .285mm/.0112 diameter. So a little less than 75 yards unless the line is only supposed to be spooled to the engraved line on the spool. Regardless, I was seeing the radius at the bottom of the spool. A longer rod or better thumb control like many of you have (allowing brake to be set around 3) should see the reel spooled. Or once broke in, maybe spooled at my setting. Rod is an Elite Tech Smallmouth 6'10" MH-MF. Lure a 5/8 oz. Rapala Clackin' Rap 07. Rod is rated 3/8-1 oz. Looks like I need to drop down to a smaller diameter line and mount the reel on a Medium power rod. I did catch a crappie in the 14-15 inch long area. It hooked itself and unhooked itself at the bank. Just the way we like.

  11. using my new Salamandura SV TW 70XHL. First time using this particular Rapala Clackin' Rap 07 (5/8 oz.). Second time using the rod...an Elite Tech Smallmouth 6'10" MH-MF. Crappie in the 14-15 inch area. Was there about 15 minutes this evening. Brake at 8. Was seeing the radius at the bottom of the spool. Box says 75 yards of 12# mono. Feel like a 7'6" rod would spool the reel. Or if I had the thumb control like many of you where I could go down to 3 on the brake, this rod would probably spool the reel. Took a picture of the fish and the reel/lure area of the rod which is why I posted the other thread asking how to download pictures. EDIT: Line is Kastking Monofilament Rebel Red. Box says .33mm (.013) diameter. Spooled to the bevel. There is a line around the spool below the bevel. Don't know what it is for. Fill line to there? Box say .285mm (.0112) for 12# line
  12. I did a search with the above phrase. Zero results. I looked under 'Pictures' hoping it would tell me there. Not sure where the proper place is to ask this question. I want to download from my Android phone (Samsung S23). Thanks.
  13. Nor had I considered that. My bad.
  14. You paid too much. Inflation has increased the price of the Premier line to $170-$190 depending on rod length.
  15. I would use fluoro IF I were fishing deep diving lures. I seriously doubt I could tell the difference in sensitivity between fluoro and mono/co-polymer/hybrid with a 2-foot leader to braid. I don't like a leader knot going through the guides. Just me. Others may not care.
  16. That was my first thought and why I didn't reply when OP first posted. Tons of good rods in that price range, but suggesting one is hard if you don't know what it will be used for.
  17. Your lure should be dropping like a rock. Did this start from the time you put the braid on? Braid needs to be spooled on under tension. If the lure has very little resistance on retrieve, you will have to occasionally make a retrieve using your fingers to maintain tension to remove loose coils of line on the spool. The line will dig in if you don't keep the braid snug on the spool.
  18. I put both into practice all the time. And I'm not the only one. People on shore cast for the middle of the lake. People in a boat follow the shore line casting towards it.
  19. Maybe look at the Ark Tharp B-Hittay 7'4" MH-Mod.-Fast. It is a composite rod. Weight 6.3 oz. Blank diameter is larger than most. At least larger than any other rod I have, if that is a put-off for you. Check the reviews. TT gave it a 'Great' rating. It was the favorite rod in the series by another reviewer even tho he admitted to preferring a jig rods.
  20. I think any 10# braid is going to fray easily. You may want to consider going higher. I tried 5# braid and it frayed on wood quicker than an alcoholic can drain a can of beer on a hot day. 20# braid is approximately equivalent to 6# mono.
  21. Don't know if this is allowed, but here... https://www.ebay.com/itm/114963661682?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=114963661682&targetid=2295557531670&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9003563&poi=&campaignid=19851828444&mkgroupid=160536780385&rlsatarget=pla-2295557531670&abcId=9307249&merchantid=6296724&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIu5-3s_3ahQMV0WtHAR2iYAprEAQYAiABEgL60_D_BwE
  22. GetFishorDieTryin Glad to see your last sentence. Saves me the trouble.
  23. It does. I think you are using the softer tip to compensate for not so subtle hand movements. The softer tip is absorbing some of your hand motion. Practice doesn't make perfect, but it does get us closer.
  24. "Any thoughts?" Nope. First I've heard of this line. So I looked for some reviews. Fluorocarbon is something I seldom use. But given what I've read about it so far, I'd be willing to try it on a couple crankbait rods. Reviewers really liked this line. I honestly have no idea why you are having such a problem. My fluorocarbon line experience is very limited, but I've never experienced this. I suggest trying a different line and see what happens. Sufix Elite or Sunline Super Natural would be a couple good choices. If these lines blow up, then it isn't the line causing the problem. EDIT: I assumed the line was spooled on correctly.
  25. What do you mean by this? "So slow with my spinning rod."
