  1. Kayak or canoe would be a good solution.
  2. Check your local army surplus store. Looks like you got what you need. Consider a kayak!
  3. No. I am afraid they'll get hung up in the weeds and pads.
  4. Change them out afterwards.
  5. I have a Field and Stream SOT 12 ft that I modified. PROS moderate to low price fairly maneuverable. Easy enough to paddle Self bailing fairly stable good rod holders by seat CONS had to replace seat, it sucked foot pegs broke, had to rivet them front storage compartment is useless not quite stable enough to stand in rocket rod holder is not great-- replaced it side handles tore apart after 3 years a regular milk crate won't fit in back compartment
  6. There are several forums for collectors. I have never seen one of those.
  7. I use liquid fusion to coat poppers and wraps when tying flies. Does anyone use it on wooden carved plugs?
  8. I have a Regal. Never regretted it. However, all you need is something that will hold the hook or jig steady while you tie. It needs to be at a convenient angle where you can get to the jig with your thread or wire, etc. Lefty Kreh used to tie using needle nose vice grips held in a shop vise. Also, height, lighting and quality of tools and materials are important.
  9. Not to be a jerk, but what will make someone buy your jigs? What will make them different: price, quality, innovation, convenience, or what? How do you plan to market yhem? Just some thoughts.
  10. I bought some BPS straight shank round bend on a whim and was pleased. I really like Tru-Turn, and they seem to stay stuck better. Regular straight hooks hang up easier than Tru-Turn or offset. I guess the easier they hook fish, the easier they get hung up.
  11. Yeah, I had one go under the kayak and leverage against the side to get off. It happened right at the boat in seconds. Ned rig
  12. U vibe worm in white, spinner bait willow leaves, white. Underpin w swimbait. If they are really keyed in they won't bite an artificial for me.
  13. Maybe try switching to a trickworm.
  14. 4 inch Luck E Strike curl tail worm w tiny weight, or Beetle spin
  15. I have tried Suffix, Spiderwire, power pro, and Berkley fire line. I use powerpro 65 lb on my BC and fireline 8 lb on spinning. Have not tried smaller powerpro on spinners or larger fire line. Fireline will stain your fingers at first. I do use braid almost 100 per cent. +/- leader.
  16. Check our Barlow's jig bodies and skirts. Can put together jigs for about $1.50
  17. Best one is one you'll wear. I have an inflatable that is comfortable.
  18. I use a feel free bah from BPS. Holds 3 planos, has side pokers for tools. Shoulder strap. Not perfect, but I like it. I just take the shoulder strap off and set it between my legs in the yak.
  19. This, plus Texas rigged trickworms, bullet weight, or weightless. Offset hook, braid. Best place on earth to fish, IMHO.
  20. I disagree. Have enjoyed my tourney special rod and viper reel.
  21. Buy the kayak. You won't have to carry much more gear, because you can't. But you can explore more and really pick apart areas.
  22. John Geirach said that fishing is the one corner of your life where you can keep things simple. I have not found that to be true. I àlways wonder what else they will bite. However, fishing from a kayak forces you to pare it down.
  23. You are opening up a can of worms, my friend. (Pardon the pun) most people on this site hate swivel snaps. They don't hold up, they impede action, they are communist, sissy, etc. At the risk of being banned, I have used them with no issues. I used one when I wanted a tiny amount of weight fishing worms and started slaying them.
  24. Wonderful fish!
