  1. I just bought one of these. I think I am going to love it in my kayak. I am Trying one box for Top water, one for mid column, and one for bottom baits. Having fun stocking it.
  2. Yes. However, you can use a vice grip that is held with a shop vice in a pinch (pardon the pun). Be sure to use super glue or nail polish on your wraps. You need to use half hitches or whip finish to tie off, and then glue.
  3. Ditch the leader when you can. I have been using the Alberto knot to leader around rip rap, and I like it. I sometimes also use a 4 turn surgeon's knot on the water, as it is easy to tie.
  4. I use 65 lb power pro on BC and 8 lb Berkley fireline on spinners. Maxima Mono leader for shallow stuff, yo zuri fluro leader for deep in clear water. Straight braid when I can get by with it, which is almost always in our stained and muddy water.
  5. Check out the discount fishing tackle sites. There are several. You can sometimes get lucky and get crankbaits for half off, bulk deals, etc.
  6. Most animals will try to steal food as that takes less energy than hunting and chasing. Even pets will try to steal food , as will some office workers.
  7. I believe that first statement might indicate a lapse in memory. The older I get the better I was! Seriously, this heat is no joke. In MS, we got heat, humidity, Alligators, water moccasins, the West Nile virus and Encephalitis virus laden mosquitoes (that's why we're crazy) Brain eating Amoeba in the lake if you get the water up your nose, jet skiers and Deliverance type rednecks. But those guys in Louisiana really have wrose heat, more reptiles, etc. (Not trying to one up Catt). But we'll both be fishing hard all winter, just about!
  8. Good video. The only criticism was there were no Alligators.
  9. DSG is still my favorite
  10. Somewhat complicaqted, though.
  11. I think scents mask human odor. I think they probably give the angler a second or two more to set the hook. Kind of like aftershave helps you not to be disgusting, but it won't really grab anyone for you.
  12. Sliding into home plate or stealing a base?
  13. For less than three hundred bucks you can get an entry level kayak at Wally world. Expands your fishing area exponentially. Just saying.
  14. I still fish worms a lot. I use them weightless if the bottom is muck. They can be fished at different speeds and with different sizes, weights, colors, and actions. I probably use them 3:1 over jigs. Maybe you need a little reaquintance with them. I applaud your use of jigs, though.
  15. An old fly guy once said, "for Bass just put some dangle crap on a hook." You just have to figure out size, depth, speed and color. I don't believe shape matters.
  16. Could be bass after shad. Try a spinner, or u vibe worm in shad colors. Buzz, let die
  17. They've been sitting around for a while. Gonna try them. I used to catch trout on them.
  18. It is always miserable herd (MS) 4 or 5 months a year. I would like to say that you get used to it, but you don't. Be smart in the heat, and keep your pets cool!
  19. I have had the crud and can't shake it. On my second round of antibiotics. Anyway, I have been bored, so I have dressed some treble hooks, rearranged my boxes several times, replaced hooks on my hard baits, etc. It all sort of needed doing. My wife my murder me in my sleep.
  20. I found some gràpe with red glitter zoom worms. They don't sell them everywhere. A couple years ago I got my PB on that color. Could not resist. Shipping was as much as a pack of worms!
  21. Sounds like my home water. Dark plastics with glitter. What has been said above. I have no luck with anything remotely finesse.
  22. Do you even need o rings on elastec?
  23. Senko and Ned rig. I don't get it. Supposed to be numbers baits. I have caught a couple dinks on each. Tried taking only them, several times. I do well with t rig worms, but not t tig senkos. Go figure. Wacky didn't work either.
  24. Looks like it made you some Ned rigs
