just got to start using my new 735c. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I paired it with a 200E7 and can't put it down when I'm on the water. Been flipping Zoom ultra vibe speed craws and have been whacking them. Dobyns rods are the best.
I have both. E5 and 2010 premier. Crank with the E5 and jig and carolina rig with the premier. Love them both. But the premier isn't worth $100 more. I bought mine at BPS last year with $50 reel trade in. If they were the same price the premier would be the way to go but use the extra cash to get a Dobyns rod and slap a Curado on there.
Just cleaned out the VMC sure set treble packs. $0.98 and $0.48 each. Also got Gammy packs of round bend trebles for $2.48. Also got the $10 off $50 purchase. Can anybody say jackpot!
We have a 100 acre private lake that has no grass cover due to the associations belief that grass carp = wonderful lake. It has some good fish but could be so much better. This makes three holidays straight I have been collecting and placing trees. Lots of work but is starting to pay off.
Just spent the afternoon working on my pile of christmas trees I've collected so far. I got about 15 trees trimmed and placed in concrete buckets ready to drop in prime locations when the ice clears.
Anyone else working on improving their lake? What are you using or doing to make it happen? Looking for tips.
I like to use a straight shank hook texas rigged. Owner has a great deal on pro packs on their web site. $15 for a 28 pack. I throw them weightless in the spring and add some split shot in the summer.
spring - white swim jig w/tail of white swim senko
summer - zoom G tail worm green pumpkin
fall - zoom ultra vibe speed worm green pumpkin
winter - ??? lake frozen already
I was throwing the Thug on #10 Pline flouro with a curadoE5. I was surprised at the size too but it seemed to be what they wanted. I believe it was running @ 8 to 9 ft. Real tight wobble. Caught em all off points with sparse timber. Going to get some more while Dick's have them on sale. 20% off.
Tied on the Thug for the first time yesterday, Helsinki Shad, and whacked a 4-3, a 3-14 and a couple of dinks. First time on my lake this season due to the ice out conditions we have faced here in the bluegrass area. Water temp was 48 deg. I have a new favorite.
