I have been fishing for approximate 3 year using live minnow. My only rod is a baitcaster that my brother gave me.
Then end of August last year I was fortunate enough to be talking to a friend of a friend at a BBQ about bass fishing.
He told me to use 5" Senko's with Owner 3/0 hooks and hook it Weightless from top end, and the technique to use.
So on the first weekend of September, my brother and I went out fishing on his boat. My brother always catches way more bass than me as he's been fishing for quite a while. My average is 3 bass in 6 hours.
On this weekend I started using the Senko's.
The weather was great. No wind, sunny and the water is clear.
That day has been the best day's fishing I have ever done.
I caught more fish then my brother, 12 bass in around 6 hours. I was laughing most of the day.
For the rest of last year I used Senko's only.
Using senko's is great when the weather is warm and calm but when it's colder or windy it seems not as good (for me anyway).
I want to try some spinnerbaits with the senko's this bass season.
Any advise on good spnnerbaits to buy for small and large mouth bass?
The lake we fish in has weeds and the water is mainly clear.
