  1. Anyone on here familiar with the river around Lacrosse?
  2. Don't throw in front of the boater!!!! Travel light if possible. Help with expenses. Don't throw in front of the boater!!!!!!
  3. I would stick to the points and any of those docks, they always have fish. Techniques all depend on water temp, clarity, time of season, wind, etc.... I would stick to jigs and crankbaits.
  4. I'm partial to the 6in Roboworm or a Berkley Wacky Crawler if you can find them. Jim- I may have some of those 7in Blue Fleck you like if you are looking for some. I don't have much luck with them.
  5. I do the same when prefishing as most guys do. I stick one or two and then start bouncing all around the lake trying to duplicate the pattern and/or establish another pattern. A lot of times I can find them in the same area, i.e. depth/cover, and just find another technique to catch them so come tournament day I have a fall back.
  6. Can anyone give me any info on fishing Clinton? I was just asked to help out and take a kid fishing for the National Guard Qualifier there next weekend but I have never fished it. Any tiips or helpful info. PM me please if you don't want anything made public knowledge. Thanks for any help.
  7. Still fishing most of the same baits just in different areas and in a slightly different way.
  8. I like to use a flouro leader when fishing waters in Wisconsin that are full of northern. Got really ticked when I lost 2 Spro frogs to those litlle buggers!!!! Fluoro made a big difference and doesn't affect the bait.
  9. Ok, I'm sure there are some here smarter than me on this subject but for me the spring and fall I use a Pumpkin or pumpkin/orange with a PacaCraw in Alabama Craw that I like to color the tips of Orange as well. My summer color of choice is Watermelon/Blue patterns with a PacaCraw in Summer Craw when I do thorw a jig in the summer which isn't a whole lot. My reasoning for my color choice is the color of the craws here on the lake I'm fishing, when the water temp gets to about 65 degrees they change color and it makes a huge difference to the fish.
  10. They all look awesome. My personal favorite is that Lemon Pepper, that would be killer here.
  11. Yep, they were right where they were supposed to be and it paid off. 1st for me and 4th for my non-boater. Great start to the season!!! I won by 1lbs and my non-boater got a 4.87, can't complain with that.
  12. Well, thanks guys. I will post up my results later today. We have a coild front approaching with some scattered storms still called for with winds at 20+.
  13. Ok, I got out for a little pre-fishing for our first tournament on Sunday. Found fish in pre-spawn mode hanging on the first break on cranks and jigs. Here's my dilema, between today and Sunday we are going to get some scattered storms, windy(20mph+) and its gonna warm up 15 degrees but no sun. Any thoughts on what the fish are likely to do? My gut tells me to stick with the fish I found and see what happens.
  14. I love mine. Got it 2 years ago and wouldn't trade it.
  15. I was just about to ask this same question. I have a Humminbird 788 at the console and want to upgrade the bow. I was looking at the Lowrance Elite4 DSI but don't know alot about them. Anyone have an opinion?
  16. I would not drill a hole either. If you want the water out use the same hole it went in. My thinking is the bait is designed a certain way and I don't want to mess it up. BTW, I love my Spro's!!!

    Spooks

I have to second the Green Bullfrog/Yellow belly. We fish slightly stained water here a lot and that color flat out tears them up when the topwater bite is going.
  18. I can get pics up tomorrow after work. I gotta get to bed for tonight, I've had enough of this thing for now.
  19. Ok, I have a 1994 MotorGuide 12/24 that I cannot get off the mount. Does anyone have any experience with this? Somehow the shaft is supposed to slide out of the "bracket" that is holding it in place and I cannot figure out how the hell it comes apart. It looks like the shaft should seperate into two pieces but I have no idea.
  20. Last year I blanked inmy first tournament and my first buddy tournament of the year. It was definitly in my head after the first one and my buddy wasnt really helping me out. Decided to say screw it and just fish the way I fish and see what happened, never finished outside of 5th the rest of the season and if not for the blank I would have been top 3 overall for the season and possibly won the overall in the buddies if we could have caught 5lbs that first one.
  21. I'll throw a dark colored jig, blk/blue or blk/brn, a Citrus Shad cranks, or a chart. spinnerbait with Indiana blades.
  22. Munkin, looking for Alabama Craw, Summer Craw, and Magic Craw for sure. Would definitly consider others as well, just shoot me a PM with what ya got. Monte, yes I'm interested. Thanks to all
  23. NOOOO, but maybe someone knows of them on sale somewhere for $2.99. Not looking for some "magical" price, d**n dude.
  24. Does anyone have a line on where I can get some NetBait B-Bugs for a good price? The best I can find is $4 a bag and my local Gander doesn't have the colors I want and BPS doesn't carry them in-store.
  25. I have two pet peeves when my partner and I are tournament fishing.1. He wants to cast past the front of the boat to hit the dock two ahead of where we are now. 2. If I say something he will cast back several docks and almost always get hung up requiring me to turn around, wasting time. Some days I just wanna kick himout of the boat but most days we do great together. Besides, someone has to bring the donuts.
