I launched about 6:45 at Lake in Palm Beach County:
The sun was out and the water was moving with a slight wind. I began to immediately paddle toward a spot I had fished before to work the lily pads, but weed growth prevented me form throwing anything effective. >
I began to throw a Spro Mad Maxx frog. The action on this frog was so good, I almost jumped out of my yak to hit it. Other than that nothing! So I parked my yak rear first on a patch of growth and began to throw into the deeper water (18 feet) to work the lip-less crank toward me in order to work it up a bank I noticed on my FF. This guy hit hard in about 6 feet:
After that one, I lost 2 more at the boat. A short while later, I relocated to a clear area with a nice point off of a bed of weeds:
As I worked the bait from the weeds out into the deeper water, I thought I was hung up...until a head shake on the surface. It was not much of a hit, but it was a decent fight. I then landed this one:
Just a hair over 20":
All in all, 2 caught, 3 lost, but a fun day none the less!
