  1. That is good stuff...Again, I am just looking for input as of right now. Thanks!
  2. OK Guys...I need some feedback. Out of respect for this forum, I will leave out certain info. A company that sponsors me is looking to possibly launch a series of freshwater tournaments strictly for kayaks, canoes, etc. Saltwater kayak tournaments are a dime a dozen...but freshwater in wide open. In your own opinion, I need feedback on the following: 1.) Would it interest you? 2.) Where would be a good centralized location in Florida? 3.) What are the concerns? 4.) Should it be strictly limited to Largemouth? 5.) If the tournament benefited a charitable organization, what do you think a honest entry fee should be? I appreciate any feedback you may provide!
  3. My pleasure!
  4. You guys are good...It was the Spro! I get them confused!
  5. J...PM sent!
  6. Lake Ida! I have only been there twice...Nothing on the first trip though. The second time was obviously better...but the weed growth there is incredible.
  7. ;D Thanks...Although I will agree my user name really has no place in Bass Fishing forums..
  8. I launched about 6:45 at Lake in Palm Beach County: The sun was out and the water was moving with a slight wind. I began to immediately paddle toward a spot I had fished before to work the lily pads, but weed growth prevented me form throwing anything effective. > I began to throw a Spro Mad Maxx frog. The action on this frog was so good, I almost jumped out of my yak to hit it. Other than that nothing! So I parked my yak rear first on a patch of growth and began to throw into the deeper water (18 feet) to work the lip-less crank toward me in order to work it up a bank I noticed on my FF. This guy hit hard in about 6 feet: After that one, I lost 2 more at the boat. A short while later, I relocated to a clear area with a nice point off of a bed of weeds: As I worked the bait from the weeds out into the deeper water, I thought I was hung up...until a head shake on the surface. It was not much of a hit, but it was a decent fight. I then landed this one: Just a hair over 20": All in all, 2 caught, 3 lost, but a fun day none the less!
  9. It does get sunny mid morning through the afternoon.
  10. I will be heading out for Bass in my kayak for the first time this week. The weather here in South Florida has been in the mid 60's, with winds at 5-10 MPH. I have the feeling that the bass will be holding deeper due to the cold water temperatures. The lake I am going to is new to me, so I do not know much about the bottom structure, however I will be using my FF. I was thinking about slow rolling a single Colorado blade spinnerbait as deep as possible, or throwing a Texas rigged worm and working it slow along the bottom. Am I going about it the right way? What advice would you offer? :-?
  11. I like spinnerbaits right near submerged timber!
  12. They are eye catching...How do you like them?
  13. Whether I am fishing for Bass or Snook or Tarpon...I always use Shimano.
  14. Well, everyone has given pretty straight forward replies which is why I like this site. As far as other details, the air temperature was roughly in the mid 70's with winds at 5mph. My wife and I moved as much as we could as we were fishing from a bank. There was fish jumping throughout the afternoon, however I could not identify them. When we went to a different spot of the lake, I did see a bass in about 2 feet of water, and he was about 10 inches in length. I did not however see any panfish.
  15. So my wife and I head out to a local park here in Coral Springs to do a little fishing today and not one bite. Here is my problem...I was using live night crawlers! Now, this is the first time I have fished freshwater here in South Florida...and not one bite! I did see some small bass in the shallower water, but nothing. This may seem like a stupid question, but shouldn't a bream or some other pan fish have hit the worms? When I was in NJ, night crawlers were a given to catch a crappie or sunfish. Should I have tried a different live bait to "Scout" the area? I appreciate any feedback!
  16. Yes, I am serious. I actually saw it in their glass case where they keep all of the reel stock. Like I always say...Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile! ;D
  17. Thanks for the info guys! I was actually at a Sports Authority the other day and they had a Cardiff 200 on clearance for $68.97 because it was in the wrong box. I could not pass that up!
  18. I am still in the market for a Shimano Cardiff, however I am not sure if I should get the 100 or 200! I want to use it for freshwater, as well as some inshore. Is there really that much of a size difference besides the max drag? There are NO stores near me who have them for me to compare including Bass Pro Shops, so I may need to order it online. Any opinions help!
  19. So...what is your lure of choice for when the weather warms up and the bass are ready to feed?
  20. Yes it is...
  21. Well, being that I am new to the forum, I thought I would post some pics of my yak. This will be my vessel to put me on the Bass in my new location, as well as possibly meeting other South Florida Bass Yakers!
  22. Those are some fish!
  23. "Thank You" to everyone else for their "Welcome"!
  24. I just moved here not that long ago, which is why I joined this forum. I mostly fished the salt and it looks like more Bass fishing here...which is fine by me! I found a few possibilities for Bass...and just need Mother Nature to lighten up on the cold and let me fish!
  25. That too sounds like fun...Where do you launch?
