  1. bayouXpress, The LOBI has been cancelled for this year.
  2. LIkewise, I am ready to wet a line. I was out of the country on business this week and will be out of town this coming weekend on business. Hopefully things will slow down so I can get back to fishing. I am fishing the LOBI the end of March and really looking forward to it. I need to do some preventative maintenance on the boat before then. JBF, you won't regret getting the Z521. I have a 2005 521DVX and really like it. Plenty of storage and able to take the rough water in the Bend. It is not too big to fish the Atchafalaya basin either.
  3. What a shocker. Jack was a true gentleman. I had the opportunity to meet him this past spring at the Toledo Bend get together. He will be truly missed by all. Our prayers and thoughts go out to his family. :'(
  4. TBendBassin, Sent you an IM
  5. Yep, plenty of wind and rain around here Catt, it was really bad.
  6. The wife gave me a Two Way Boat Alarm for Xmas. ;D The instructions recommends under the console. Has anyone mounted the alarm in other areas and found it to be more sensitive? Used silicone or epoxy putting? The installation is straight forward. Any suggestions will be most appreciated.
  7. Jack, Congratulations on the win.
  8. Jack, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during these difficult times.
  9. Sorry to hear that Jack. I hope she gets better soon.
  10. Jack, Sorry I am going to back out of the Nov 6 get together. The wife had surgery earlier this month and will not be fully recovered in time to fish November 6th. I thought she might have been fully recovered but the doc says otherwise. No complications, just taking a while to get back up to speed. Hope to see all of you at the next Toledo Bend get together.
  11. You can count me in. Late October, early November works for me.
  12. I was also at the first one and am ready for another. It was great meeting some of the people and look forward to meeting more.
  13. Jack, Likewise be safe and good luck this weekend. I am going to wet a line in the basin this weekend, close to home.
  14. Jack, Responded to your PM with phone number and name. Good luck.
  15. I second that for another lesson. I need all the help I can get.

  17. Jack, I had a '88 Skeeter Starfire 175 and now the '05 Ranger 521 that you saw for the TB tournament. I looked at getting back into a Skeeter but comparing the Skeeter to Ranger in '05, to me the Ranger had better quality. Ranger was a bit pricier but it was better equipped. Pros and Cons Ranger fiberglass storage compartments/Skeeter plastic Ranger has a better ice chest--holds ice much longer than a Skeeter Ride on the Ranger is better than a Skeeter IMO but then again they all reach a limit on how much rough water they can take Ranger support is much better--you can actually talk to someone and they are most helpful Ranger heavier and slower than a Skeeter--you reach a point in life when you want comfort over speed. Overall I have been happy with the Ranger and would definitely buy another. In the past, the four strokes were heavy and had poor performance. Since Yamaha came out with the SHO, I have heard all good comments. Granted it is still new and time will tell but they are lighter than a comparable two stroke, great hole shot and top end. I talked to a buddy today that has a 20i with a 250 HPDI that ran against a 20FX with a SHO. He told me the 20FX was 6 to 8 MPH faster. Hmmm. I dont' know much about the Phoenix or Pro Gator but the remaining boats are all good boats. Good luck with your search.
  18. Many thanks Donnie. I couldn't tell if it had a vibration sensor, I was hoping it had the vibration sensor. I will need to install myself since I am in South La. I will give Shawn a call. The alarm going off must have scared the heck out of you. I see you are in the Austin, Tx area. Nice place, I was stationed at Bergstrom AFB in '70 and '71.
  19. SkeeterDon, What is the brand of your boat alarm and pager and where did you buy it? I searched the web and only found one boat alarm available for bass boats in that price range. It looked to be labor intensive to install--had to install a device on each compartment door.
  20. Catt, Thanks for posting the articles on the shad and crawfish. Although I was getting a bit hungry reading about the crawfish. How about a response from my previous post regarding N 31.45360 W 93.73604? I would be greatly appreciated, even if I bombed out can I get a second run at this one?
  21. Catt has a good point on the bay boat. High sides, plenty of room for the kids and is much less that a bass boat of the same size. The down side is you will loose storage space.
  22. 4 bank and glad I have a four instead of a three. Keeps the cranking battery topped off.
  23. Catt, Round 2 The west side of the hump has a steeper drop than the rest. There is a channel cutting into the northeast side and another channel on the southwest side each forming a point. The point on the north east side though is right smack tab in the middle of the Spring Hill boat lane. I also see a deeper channel on the north side of the hump, almost north to south. I had a close up look at the hump on the satelite and noticed it has black spots--are those stumps? Would I fish side of the channel on the north side or better to fish the sharper drop off and work my way to the top of the hump? I don't know how I faired on the Clear Creek to Patroon Bayou but to me this is much tougher to disect. Can you give me some advise?
  24. OK Catt, More to come. I need to work to feed this fishing habit I have.
  25. Catt, Looks like a hump out in the lake ;D
