  1. I just bought a spool of this line at dicks the other day because iv always wanted to try it and it was 55% off. Now, my first question is.. what kind of line is it? I was thinkin like a fluro or braid, but i didnt think braid because its translucent in water..? ANyway besides that has anyone ever used this line and have good luck with it? Durability, strength, memory. One of my bigegest things is memory. Hate knots! Any info is helpful thank you.
  2. I am headed down to smith mounatin lake on vacation to do some striper fishin. Now, ill b with a guide while fishin for stripers but after that i plan to rent a boat and do some smallmouth fishin.(or lm whatever) Does anyone know of any good spots or good baits tat work well there. Any suggestions are helpful thanks.
  3. If you need both then the 6' 6" is great.
  4. Anyone know if the Pline CXX is gonna be on sale today or tomorrow. Id like to get a box or two. Thanks
  5. If I were you, I'd go with a 7' foot rod, just for the distance in casts and the control. You can also handle a little heavier baits.
  6. I bought this rod about a year and a half ago when i wasn't real in depth with everything. Now that i have my baitcaster and one the second buy, what would you recomend me use this rod for. I was thinking topwater light jigs? Thank You
  7. Just went to bass pro shops today and bought a new baitcast comboo. I bought a 7' medium heavy, modorate fast shimno compre with a pflueger patriarch64. I was just out casting with it and it is awesome! When i bought i didnt see the action was moderate fast. Will this make any difference? You think this is a good combo.Probaby gonna be used for everything except for top water. (crankbaits, spinner baits, and soft plastics)
  8. Hi, i was looking for something to keep on my reels to keep them nice and clean. I was thinking wd40 becuase that is a lubricant and it is also made of fish oil... So i would think it could also be somehwat of an attractant. Any thoughts if this is a good or bad idea. or if it would scare the fish. Iv read that a lot of ice fisherman use it to keep their reels from freezing...
  9. Ok so braid is the answer? what pound test should i be looking at and what brand.
  10. I have done tons of research and i believe i have finally decided on a combo to use for everything i need out on the river or lake. Starting with a 6' 6" medium heavy fast shimano compre, with a plfueger patriarch 64. This sound like a good combo..
  11. Looking at buying one of these reels from a guy on here and it looks nice but i originally did not intend on buying the wide version. The website says its used for medium freshwater to light saltwater, what does this mean. And it says its only .4 oz heavier. Is it any bigger? I will really only be using for freshwater, and maybe, maybe, maybe use for inshore but highly doubt it.Buy or no buy to get the original model.
  12. I am looking to buy a new casting rod and am just wondering what the real purpose of the split grip handles are for. Are they for looks, weight reduction, comfortablity, thanks in advance..
  13. Hi guys, i live in Pennsylvania about halfway between York and Harrisburg. Havnt had all that much luck on the river but i know theres tons of fish out there. Anyone know of some good spots for large mouth, *small mouth, walleye? Any advice is helpful thanks!
  14. IM right by there. My dad and i usually go every year. Was just there last week. I dont believe the fishing section was all that great this year but who knows. I was looking to buy a new baitcast reel there but i just didnt find any deals. LOve going though.
  15. I was originally looking at getting the pflueger patriarch but i just cant seem to part with the money. What i was wondering is if it would be a good buy for me, or if the president might be better for the money. Thanks
