  1. yeah, nothing very big at all, just like a grub or a baby brush hog cut down to size. lots of action
  2. ive seen rice mixed in with the salt on the tables at mexican resteraunts, but i have never thought to put that to use like that. it probably is a problem when you drop the box ;D
  3. nothing much, just a seagull off the ocean isle beach pier in Ocean Isle, North carolina
  4. a few months ago i found a bagley's bass n' shad crankbait on the bank of my pet lake and it has been absolutely killer. yesterday, thanks to a knot left unchecked after a 2 lb bass, i lost the lure on the very next cast. i did some research to buy a new one and it turns out they stopped making them! why?
  5. like field and stream or something like that
  6. tubes are good sight fishing baits, scoot em' on the bottom past a bass's nose, and wait for it to disappear
  7. swimbait rod? lol i thought that would be obvious (just in case, get the swimbait rod)
  8. my first jig fish was a bluegill. i don't know if that counts....
  9. the recommended carolina rig shown on the back of the MAGIC CATFISH BAIT bag just never works.
  10. its funny you should bring this up because i HAVE a boat, its a little jon boat perfect for my lake, but heres the catch: IT HAS NO TRAILER, MOTOR OR REGISTRATION!!!! D: D: D:
  11. i have that too but its too easy and you can only use crankbaits
  12. I was watching FLW outdoors and i noticed a lot of people catching fish in very open, featureless water. do they locate points or drop offs? or do they just locate them using a fish finder? i always thought of bass as shallow water fish, but should i redefine my methods as i have never tried doing open water fishing? and what would some good baits for this?
  13. this thread makes no sense to me.....
  14. this makes me want to fish at lake fork more often. im in dfw and its probably not more than an hour away. at the first five pounder me and my dad probably would have went home on that note. nice!
  15. Saturday had to be one of the best days of fishing on Lake Mineral Wells, TX, that i can remember. First, still dark out, i could see the bass hitting shad on the surface, so i threw a Pop-R and hooked one within a few minutes, but it threw the hook. :'( My dad hopped a little hair jig around some moss and hooked some schooling crappie. We didn't catch anything else until we rented the jonboat and paddled over to this cove with lots of stumps. There i threw a crappie rig with minnow under a pencil bobber that produced a nice sized bass on light spincasting gear and 6 pound line. We went back to the shore to turn in the boat and i found this pea gravel area that produced 3 crappie, a nice sized bass, and countless other smaller bass. all these were on live minnows. it got around noon and my dad and i were tired, so we got cheeseburgers, went home, and took a nap. Nice.
