    Welcome aboard! Based on your pix, you have some lures that should work on smallies. I'd also encourage you to read as many of the articles on bassresource as you can, as well as tuning into the many videos on getting started.

    First of all, bass fishermen should call them "floats" instead of "bobbers" since it sounds more official ... Well, technically, floats are not the red/white ones. I have used and sometimes use pencil style or other Thill variety, even Asian variety of floats. My sons and I have caught very nice bass with a wacky worm rigged under a float. They work! Though for 99% of my bass fishing I do not use floats. Moreso with panfishing.

    I'll give you some lee-way on Messi and coaching. I don't know as much as you, likely As for Croatia's midfield. Yes. Dangerous and ... dangerous. The team that underestimates them loses. And Neymar. A true salesman. He should have been yellowed for his "sales job" in the box in the last game. That's part of my gripe with him. He's a salesman through and through. Fouls are acted upon like a Shakespearean actor. Good grief!

    Absolutely agree! I'd add Harry Kane to that list, but a distant third. He's been quite on point for England despite opponents. Croatia is a sleeper to go to quarter finals, I think. Heck, they have two of the best mid fielders in the game, so they could go further. Ronaldo is carrying Portugal, and he's doing an AMAZING job. Messi...has all but disappeared, but in his defense, I don't think Argentina is doing a good job of coaching or ... well, anything related to playing the beautiful game correctly or effectively. Spain is loaded, and Belgium is poised for glory if they can keep it rolling. Brazil has been "meh" for me. Nothing quite like the teams of old which were so fun and amazing. I just can't get in to Neymar like my sons can. He doens't "wow" me at all. Good, yes, great...maybe.

    They're all versatile for freshwater. 1000s for me! Hold plenty of braid, never a concern for being spooled, even use for striper fishing.

    Germany came out with one mission: win at all costs. Their loss to Mexico was humiliating for them. But Mex sure made a huge statement with that game. I forgot to add Mexico to my list of impressive teams. The reffing has actually been really good this year, and I love how VAR has assisted in correcting calls. Some calls tho, have been bad...

    Anyone else soccer/futbol fans here? Huge in my house. Watched every game of the first round thus far. Belgium, England, Russia, Croatia super impressive. Picked Germany early on, but Belgium looks stronger than the rest so far. England looks awesome this morning. Chime in if you're watching, are a fan, of the Beautiful Game!

    Eradicating invasive species in FL is a nearly impossible task. It's too bad these cool creatures are affecting so many things like electrical power, etc. Just keep 'em away from nuclear power... FL is the saltwater fishing capital of the world with so many varieties of fish coming thru via currents. Now FL is gunning for supremacy over Madagascar, Australia, Congo, Brazil, for animal capital of the world!

    Welcome aboard! I've caught some beasts using a MF casting rod and jig. I normally use my MH casting rod for jigs now, but lighter jigs are fine with M power (IMO). I also use spinning for some of my lighter jigs. Good luck.

    The longer the yak, generally-speaking, the better the tracking, though not 100% the case. Longer/more gear - you need to determine how much weight you will carry. Some yaks have lower weight limits, while others are rated for 400-500 lbs. Pedal or motor. I motor, my kayak, empty is 55#, and is easily car topped. Thermoformed yaks are much lighter and worth checking out. My motor setup is a DIY similar to what BassYaks offers. Rigging/pre-rigged yaks. Buying a fishing-specific kayak is good/bad. I.e., the designers decided what and where to put stuff. You may or may not like their decisions. A non-fishing-specific kayak allows you to fish from it and over time decide what you think you need (rod holders, fish finder, etc.) and where you want it located. Just some stuff to think about...or add more confusion
