    Levi's latest. First 7 or so minutes cover Florence. The rainfall alone is going to be awful. Saturday's rains here at our house took over 24 hours to soak into the ground.... I've got huge pines less than 20 feet from my house...not happiest of campers.

    Agreed. Was showing my wife the forecast path this AM and noted how narrowed it was, meaning higher certainty. Ugh. The GFS's latest is still worst case for my area, and hopefully Wxrisk and others predicting the GFS is bonkers turns out right. The 2pm GFS ensemble has it hitting OBX, then slowly turning back to the Atlantic, then back to OBX and up to VA Beach (SE VA) churning around for a wee day or two. That's horrific for all of us down here.

    Hate to say it, but as I was reading the forecast I noticed he had Hurricane Isabel in 1993... NO!! I remember her very well. Home repairs never let me forget. The commenters pointed the error(s) out to him, as well. In the mean time, I HOPE HOPE HOPE Florence and the companions following her off the coast of Africa all stay out to sea!! The Conga Line of tropical waves is not encouraging.

    I agree with @J Francho here. While I've actually gone the other direction - I mostly use spinning now, pared down my casting gear. I set out to go casting-only and ended up concluding (for me) spinning met the majority of my needs, for a variety of reasons. But for some uses I still prefer casting gear. They both have their place.

    That's a negative. We've seen no issues with braid in salt/fresh.
