  1. Since it will take time to master the art of baitcasting, you have to ask yourself if you want to spend the time necessary to do so. I did and had a lot of success with BCs. But over time I simply felt that spinning was more useful to me in more situations. Sold off some of my casting gear and only have one BC reel with 2 rods that I use these days. The majority of the time I use spinning only. As others have said, use what you feel comfortable with.

  9. Dang!! That's one fat lady - a hearty congrats on the PB!!
  10. Welcome aboard! For the techniques you mention, realize St. Croix can be a tad stiffer than other brands. I would go with a M St. Croix in that case, as an XF will flex closer to the tip and the M will be a little bit more of the rod flexing. I use both M and ML for Ned rigs. A St. Croix MLXF would work very well with all the techniques, IMHO.
  11. Congrats! Nice catch!

  16. This sums up Bills fandom in the 2000s.
  17. It's a UCL injury, getting second opinion today. Most reports doubt it'll result in Tommy John surgery and they expect Allen to be out for a month or so. IMHO, Bills should probably sit him the rest of season and let Peterman or Anderson get beat up behind our offensive line. We could be in the running for another QB if so ... or, more likely, the McBeanie Boys will probably pick another D lineman and completely ignore the O-line. Again. I mean, Defense wins championships, right?
  18. We usually don't turn our heat on until December, at least. We like it "cold" in our upstairs, for sleeping reasons. Keep the temp around 68, in the summer, so if it drops, it's all good...until we have to wear layers to sleep.
  19. It always works for other people Beautiful hawg. Congrats to the little bro.
  20. How DARE you post a picture so offensive... I don't see Peterman being fit for *any* level of "pro" football. Yeah man, just part of "the process".... Buffalo is a startling picture of solid drafts (Tre White) and utter head scratching roster moves (not enough white space to list, sadly).
  21. It makes absolutely ZERO sense the Bills keep him. He may be great in the film study room, but for all things holy Buffalo, what the heck!? Even if I knew peeps in management, McBeanie Boys would insist Nate is a quality NFL quarterback. It completely boggles the mind....
  22. Welcome aboard, Peter! Nice to have you here Are you a long-pole fisherman, or do you prefer spinning gear?
  23. Can't help with your boat question, those with expertise will, as above. But welcome aboard to Bass Resource!
  24. Fantastic catch! What a beast! Congrats!!
  25. Was pretty rough, harrowing night. Power went out around 11:20, winds howled, took down a huge pine in my back yard. That pine took down a dead pine and sheared the branches off of two other trees before falling into my neighbor's fence. A few doors down from us had a tree fall on their house, thankfully nobody was in that room. Heard many booms and crashes while I stood on our covered porch in front until about 1:20AM when the winds finally died down. Generator running today. Fortunately we have internet. Over 15,000 w/o power in York County.
