  3. Congrats! Pigs, indeed. But I have to admit. I thought you had some sort of low carb brownie recipe involving bacon or something to help during this stay-at-home time.
  4. Welcome aboard, Cody!

    Welcome aboard!
  6. Welcome aboard, Arthur! FWIW, forum rules prohibit posting your own YouTube channel. Unless I'm wrong, basically, posting it is promoting it. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/guidelines/

  13. There's enough "whip" in the tip, combined (my setup) with 20# Power Pro on a Chronarch 50e with upgraded bearings and 7:1 gear upgrade. A 6# leader. I was even able to throw a 1/32 FinS swim jig head and a 1.5" FinS shad. Granted, not far, but I could do it if I had to , and my thumb had to be very much at the ready, more than normal.
  14. Power Pro regular (yellow) in 10#, and SuperSlick 8 (yellow) in 15#. Like 'em both a lot.
  15. Welcome aboard! I would suggest similar to above recommendations. I happen to be a guy who prefers shorter rods, smaller reels (1000 size), and I use 10-15# test braid and always a leader from 6, 8, 10 pounds and occasionally 4 and 15# leader. The leader is just how I roll. I fish a lot of soft plastics and sometimes frequently have to change hooks, or such. With a leader I don't have to cut into my braided mainline. In terms of freshwater fishing, I think people overestimate the size reel needed to pull in big bass. That said, newer spinning reels from the likes of Daiwa, Shimano, etc., are smaller today than what they were from years past. I've caught dozens of bass from 4-6+ pounds on 1000 reels. FWIW. The bigger reels handle more line, tend to stronger drag. So whatever feels comfortable to you, get that. Never fished Lews (I'm pretty much a Shimano guy), but if the setup feels good in your hand and doesn't break your budget, go for it! Good luck!
  16. Welp...barring drug test failure (not a chance), I'll be working at Lowe's as a seasonal employee. It's a job, and will probably be fun. Not gonna make the $$ we really need, but again, it's a job in these trying times, so I'll take it gladly! Thanks to everyone for the well-wishes, and Mike @N Florida Mike, for letting me "join" the thread he started.
  17. Chunky walleye! Nice!
  18. Thanks. My brother texted me this last night. I'm researching. Details scarce right now. I've already been rejected by Virginia. Would have had to been classified as an S-corp and been an employee thereof, paying those taxes.

  21. Welcome aboard! Good luck with your quest. Plenty of answers thus far. Personally, starting out, I'd stick to spinning gear and add casting later if you think you really need it. Spinning is easy, less headaches, and can do most everything you need. Casting can be fun, can make you learn new four-letter words when you have a professional over- run (birds nest), etc. I do both, mostly spinning, though.
  22. Welcome aboard!
  23. Lost my job, as well. Web sites I ran for 17+ years...owner retired, shut them down at end of Feb. Virus a concern; that and subscription issues weighed in shutdown. Sucks. 50 years old, no response from any application. Can't get unemployment because I was 1099/self-employed. Wife a nurse, but we still have 4 boys, a lot of expenses, etc. She can't carry us alone. Tough times. We'll make it through. Hopefully politicians get heads out of their ... nether regions and come up with a relief that helps all of us.
  24. Interesting that you're breaking the Shroomz hooks! I like them in the weedless version and haven't found the weed guards to be too stiff. I use them on 6, 8, and 10# leaders, drag set to zing a tad when I set the hook.
