Bob, when using 10# PP, I'd suggest doing
7-10 wraps UP, then 4-5 back down. I have
found this to be the strongest. If using thin
line - like 6-8, I up the wraps UP the line.
I like to think I tie a very good knot, tight,
layered properly. So everyone's mileage
may vary depending on how the knot is
tied, etc.

tie a standard, modified Albright.
That's how I learned.
