  1. Good on ya, mate! Beginning of many big bass on softies
  2. Congrats! Now try wacky (be patient with the worm fall) and get back to us
  3. First, welcome aboard, Rod! Second - I fish NNPK (Lee Hall Reservoir) mostly, and it is a good fishery. Fish the side off rte 64 (get your launch pass). There are a number of great laydowns, and stump fields there that have some big bass. As well, there's water past the big pipe that runs across it. I know folks who've pulled in 8lbers in the shallow waters there. Harwood's Mill also has some beasts, but with the construction on rte 17, they've kept the water level low, and I've not has as much success there as in the past (PB caught there on the small side). Waller Mill has some big bass in it, but the price of fishing there has gone up over the years. Haven't fished it in about one year.
  4. Yes. It is a good line. I use it as a leader tied to braided mainline and in that it excels.
  5. Over 8, for sure. Beast!
  6. Welcome aboard, John!
  7. First, welcome to the forums! Looks like an old Bandit crank bait to me. Not sure if/where you could find one these days.
  8. What if someone hacks BassResource!!!?? <GASP>! LOL... Sorry, not to make light of the AM debacle, but if you were dumb enough to sign up, then you shouldn't be surprised if your info leaked.
  9. Welcome aboard! This is where you want to be. Tons to learn whether you're a pro or beginner!
  10. Certainly won't dispute his cocky attitude as part of the problem. No doubt. But I can't help but wonder if the circus in DC would be a much different situation under someone like Chip Kelly. He could probably bring RGIII back to some form of his former/future self.
  11. RGIII needs *out* of DC ASAP!! Poor guy needs a coach/team that actually wants him, and can get him back to year one form -- if he can ever get back there again.
  12. Well done! Look at those eyes. Did you catch her in deep water?
  13. Fairly pleased with my Bills. Rooting for Tyrod Taylor to be our QB. Kid's got game, IMO. But I'm ready for the league to either ditch the pre-season altogether, or shorten it to a couple games.
  14. Welcome aboard! UNT grad myself. Didn't do bass fishing back in those days... But summer can be tough in general.

    Hello

    Welcome aboard!
  16. Fish Chris... Amateur! I hope he comes back....
  17. Spinning gear can be used for everything you want to use it for with regard to bass fishing. I use both casting and spinning, and both are great. I could use spinning for everything, but I chose to learn baitcasting and really enjoy it. That said, I don't need casting for how I fish. And I use 1000 size spinning reels, nothing as big as 3000 or 4000 size beasts. You can do almost anything with those and the right line. Unless you are exceedingly well versed in the art of baitcasting -- i.e., skipping and such under docks and trees, nothing beats spinning gear for those options. I consider myself pretty decent with casting gear, but there are times when only spinning gear will keep me from going crazy.

    Gotta Be

Welcome aboard..."Gotta Be"... heh Gotta getta brewski. Care to join me?
  19. Hi Pat, welcome aboard!
  20. Dang! Those are some big bass, then, LOL!!
  21. Nice. I admit, I'm with A-Jay. Didn't know what to expect except that it was filed under "Fishing Reports" and not "Everything Else". So I figured it was safe to open. What's your shoe size? If you're a 13, those are big bass. If you're a 6...well....
  22. I enjoyed it, too! But the super hero genre is being overdone, IMO.
  23. Welcome aboard, Jon!
  24. Welcome aboard!
  25. While I do believe there is a difference in GYCB Senkos vs. knock-offs, I no longer believe that in order to catch more, bigger, better bass I have to use them. A year or two back I purposefully went out and bought a bag of 4" BPS Stick-O worms and only took that bag out with me for a day of fishing. Boy was it a great day. Since then, I've come to rely on Stick-Os of different colors, lengths and keep catching plenty of bass. But I still buy a bag of Senkos when they're on sale in particular colors that I can't find in other brands.
