  3. Congrats. That's a Beast! I've seen bass with only one eye, not sure if from a hook or disease, so not really sure if it'll live or die. You released it, hope for the best.
  4. Did you happen to email the German ebayer to see how soon he/she could get it to you? Just curious
  5. I bought my 12' 98% graphite (?) from allfishingbuy.com and have used it with great success over the years for pannies up to 2 pound bass. Unbelievably fun! My sons also use Walmart-bought 10-20' long poles for fun, as well. We've caught a ton of fish from pan-cat-bass on them, not to mention turtles.
  6. Hi Dave, welcome aboard! I'll assume you're a Bills fan. If that's the case, then an even warmer welcome, LOL! Long-Time Bills fan here. Looooong time.
  7. I'll defer to your expertise since I've not fished PP in such low diameters. Leaders, I don't fish below 4# anymore these days, but I used to. I need to break out my long poles and do some no-reel fishing soon. 2# test after panfish.
  8. Guess I was the only to reply to your other post with the same topic, so in case that is deleted, here's the reply I posted there: Welcome aboard, Edwin! No, but you'll need to either put a piece of tape on the spool or something else to hold the braid from slipping while you wind.
  9. I generally either open in a new tab, or ignore the behavior. For me it really isn't an issue, although I can see how it can be for many.
  10. That's great news! Best wishes to a full recovery!
  11. I have had the most success with PBJ and similar colors when I fish jigs. I've tried the black/blue but haven't had success with that color, even though guys I've fished with swear by it... Go figure....
  12. I'd agree, generally; however since he's considering tying on a leader, I don't see a problem with 10# Power Pro. For me, the leader is the UL portion of the setup. For that, I'd go from 2-4# leader.
  13. Typically a "normal" color frog - white/yellow bottom, green + black spots on top. Jitterbugs are similar, but have also used a black bug. Don't do a lot of tops, as I said. But those have been my most successful when fished.
  14. Don't fish a lot of TW baits but I like jitterbugs, and frogs. A friendly suggestion for future posts to not use ALL CAPS...it is considered to be shouting and I'm pretty sure you're not meaning to do that.
  15. Welcome aboard, Edwin! No, but you'll need to either put a piece of tape on the spool or something else to hold the braid from slipping while you wind.
  16. Welcome aboard!
  17. I have some and have used some, and for the price they are decent, but in my experience, not great. I've also had XPS hooks break on me, but never a Gamakatsu. Pretty much settled on Gammy hooks for my use.
  18. Welcome aboard!
  19. Can't help you with your question as I'm in VA, but since you're new to the forums, welcome aboard!
  20. Welcome aboard!
  21. Not sure I can post this or not, but here's a link to a German ebayer selling one. Has 100% positive feedback. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shimano-Stradic-FK-HG-XG-Ersatzspule-1000-2500-C3000-4000-C5000-OVP-Sparespool-/272054619445?var=&hash=item3f57b80d35:m:m8ieUQnE8Dd84K1iD6OdoXg
  22. Geez. I see that now. The picture was the FK on the parts page. I wasn't paying attention to the details, just the picture.
  23. Looks like you can get the whole spool assembly for $31.95 part #RD14928 https://fishshop.shimano.com/vip/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441848263
