  1. Which hooks are you using? And yes, I understand fishing from shore. Been there, done that, and occasionally still do! I buy bulk Gamakatsu Splitshot/Dropshot hooks 25 for about $13, or if you buy online, cheaper unless you end up paying shipping. I like 1/0 and I tie on my own weedless wire and it really does help a lot.
  2. No, but it will still shimmy. And a 6" will have greater shimmy than the 5. So it's all relative to the bait. I catch a ton of bass wacky rigged on a 4" senko. As I've said in other posts, wacky is my primary style, and for me, it's been very successful. But for others, 5" worms perform better. Go figure. Not really. If you've never wacky rigged, you really oughta try it!
  3. You really want to handle the reels in a store in order to get a sense of how they feel in your hands. Years ago I had completely decided to go the President route based on the numerous excellent reviews on the product(s). And there's no doubt they're excellent reels. However, in my hands, I didn't like how they felt, reeled, etc. Completely subjective. I tried a similar sized Shimano, Quantum, Daiwa, Abu, etc. The best *feeling* and reeling to me were Shimano. So like it's been said, if you can take your rod in to a store and try several different brands on it, choose the one you feel fits you best. It was Shimano for me, but you may feel some other brand fits your style better.
  4. Count me in with the Legend Tournament Bass/Walleye rods (smaller sizes in the identical walleye series), and a Shimano Stradic of your choice, within your budget. But as it has been said, a senko catches fish no matter what you use.
  5. I fish 4 inchers most of the time. I do carry the same colors in 5" and on particular color in 6". I can say w/o a doubt that I catch more on 4" than any other. I did catch my PB on a 5 inch worm, and have caught some big and small bass on 5s. I have caught many bass in the 5 to high 6 pound range with 4s.
  6. Yep! I put them in my tackle box, got some really big packs in one of them, and tiny ones in my hook box. They work great. Whole gallon ziplock full of 'em collected over the years for when one of the kids' phones (or mine) get wet...
  7. Welcome aboard, Tim!
  8. Welcome aboard!
  9. Welcome aboard!
  10. Welcome aboard! I use ML, and M spinning rods for all my bass fishing, which is primarily soft plastics, so an ML is a good match for a lot of what I do.
  11. Hi Kyle, welcome aboard!
  12. Welcome aboard! I primarily fish soft plastics, and of them, mostly wacky rigged worms both stick worms and finesse worms. It outfishes every other technique I've tried. But I will still fish other methods....
  13. Yup: Just type "Gliss" in the search box and you'll get a bevy of results: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/search/?type=all&q=gliss
  14. Welcome aboard! Flyfisher is in your neck of the woods. He'll chime in as he is available.
  15. Paddle?? Pffft. I use a MinnKota C2 30 I actually take an emergency paddle with me, the orange one that is about 2 feet long before extension. Used to carry my AquaBound Hybrid paddle Is carbon, light, great. Will use it if I don't take my motor for whatever reason.
  16. Welcome aboard! On your computer, you need to open the pic and save as a JPEG so it shrinks down the file. Not sure if you're trying to upload from a mobile phone, but newer ones have larger picture files due to higher megapixels. So you need to shrink it before uploading.
  17. Up to you, really. I use braid on every setup, but I always tie on a leader of varying poundage, and material. Mostly I tie Yo-Zuri Hybrid from 4-15# test. Also have XPS Florocarbon that I use on occasion.
  18. Welcome aboard!

  20. Good news, Dwight! Speedy recovery from the surgery!
  21. Hey Jason, welcome aboard!!
  22. I would be, too!! No doubt about that, my friend!
  23. Depending on the platform you're using, you could use the default photo editor to "Save As" a smaller JPEG file, and then upload that to bassresource.com. I have had to do that on a few of my files in OS X.
  24. Hi Dave, welcome aboard!
  25. Congrats, Jeff! Splendid bass. But you know deep down, Mexico holds bigger girls. C'mon, just admit it to yourself.... LOL Sorry, only pokin' atcha.
