  1. Welcome aboard, Timm!
  2. Welcome aboard! Don't have any experience with a kayak in the $500 range that will allow you to stand other than finding a used model such as the Native Ultimate 12, Wilderness Systems Commander, Ride, Feel Free Mokens and Lures... Preytorian obviously has a positive experience with something that sounds right up your alley and for the right price. Just make sure to figure in a PFD and good paddle -- and ALWAYS -- 100% of the time wear your PFD. Don't risk your young life!!
  3. I like these in 2/0 and 3/0 http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gamakatsu_OShaugnessy_Bend_Offset_Worm_Hook_6pk/descpage-GOSW.html
  4. My wife, too. Or the nurses that come in for the AM shift are so happy for the extra hour that they talk my wife's ear off ... after she WORKED that extra hour...
  5. I've fished these wacky with so/so results. This is probably because I bought them in chartreuse pepper.... other baits occupy my fishing time these days...
  6. Count my wife among this crowd! But it's all evened out in the Fall
  7. Texas rigging usually means Zoom Trick worms or Zoom Finesse worms, natural colors mostly, like black, junebug, watermelon gold, greenp gold.
  8. You've got enough answers for your question, so I'll just welcome you to the forum. Interesting name...
  9. Welcome, Cam. I'm sure the NE folks will chime in here! Down here in VA we are throwing wacky rigs, and other soft plastics. I say we, but I really mean me, LOL. I'll likely be throwing some cranks and spinnerbaits soon, though they are not my go-to.
  10. Yessirree, like Kickerfish, I seal 'em up with U40. Good stuff. Clean it with some magic eraser (as has been suggested in other threads).
  11. LOL... Is always the person who has never even held a rod before! Big congrats to Paul, though. May he be forever hooked and a forever friend.
  12. Welcome aboard!
  13. I'm not saying this is what you bought, but that sure looks like a repaired tip! I've had had broken rods where when I had a new tip put on it was an inch or so away from the second guide. This wasn't a used rod, was it?
  14. Yes, but not this year. No time. Bundle up, and if you're in a kayak that will get your butt wet, you will want to dress appropriately. There's special gear for that. I don't own any, myself, but I know guys who do...
  15. Great looking, healthy bass, indeed! Nice job.
  16. Excellent bass, Joey!
  17. Never said resemblance, LOL... "Reminds" ... humorous, what kind of fish is this? Looks like a baby bass, looks like a baby striped bass... African swallow, European swallow debate...fish debate, both debates...oh nevermind. Maybe I'm the only one who can relate the humor.
  18. Whichever, it reminds me of this...
  19. Congrats on the great bass, Beckie!
  20. Welcome aboard!
  21. Welcome aboard!
  22. Welcome aboard!
  23. All depends on the weather you fish in. I live in VA and fish out of a hybrid kayak/canoe in the Native Ultimate 12. No scuppers. But I've only had one issue that I had to get ashore to deal with...and it wasn't in rainy weather. Though I think scuppers are the bees knees, I love my U12 hybrid. A fantastic fishing machine. Similar hybrid would be the Commander from Wilderness Systems - fwiw.
  24. Come to think of it, maybe we both should go to make sure....
  25. Yeah. That's nice. Got anything else you can show us? Yours and your buddy's amazing catches are getting old. Saaaayyyy, are you fishing the same private pond that Bill Dance always uses??? Hmmm?
